Happy and proud of how Singapore has dealt with the #coronavirus situation thus far with great transparency, honesty, and proactive efficiency leaving no stones unturned, and it’s heartening to learn of how our people have managed to overcome the initial fear to step forward and come together to show care and concern for one another as a close-knit unit. Times of adversity can definitely and easily bring out the worst in us, but it can also surely #bringoutthebestinus too. We’ve shown ourselves to be a matured and cohesive society in handling the matter with great objectivity and levelheadedness, without panic or losing our cool, neither getting ourselves embroiled into finger pointing, blaming, discrimination, or racism issues, partly due to our multiracial upbringing, awareness, and understanding. This sense of relative security and knowledge that we have the ability to cope with the situation would not have been possible without our leaders and frontline warriors like doctors, nurses, medical and healthcare workers, transport drivers, cleaners, and security personnel doing their parts as our first line of defence.
#Covid19 is a very real and constantly evolving situation which we have to continue to adapt and respond to in the upcoming months, and it is only with unity as a nation and humanity as one, and with collective strength and mutual support for one another, that we can best protect ourselves, our families and our loved ones from the virus. Life goes on, with greater responsibility and vigilance; let’s come out of this battle better, stronger, together, with our integrity intact and much graciousness.
