President Tsai Ing-wen left the KMT with no alternative but to occupy the Legislative Yuan for a parliamentary boycott
The Kuomintang legislators have occupied the Legislative Chamber to protest against the nomination of former Presidential Office Secretary-General Chen Chu to head the Control Yuan. The move is made by President Tsai Ing-wen!
Since the Democratic Progress Party (DPP) took power on May 20, 2016, the DPP has disregarded public opposition and brutally passed bills with superiority. Opposition parties’ proposals did not exist any chance to be voted, and this had led to a lack of communication with the opposition.
This year, the Tsai administration has become more tyrannical than before. After the outbreak of COVID-19, the Kuomintang (KMT) proposed to introduce the Special Act on COVID-19 Prevention, Relief, and Restoration. However, the Tsai administration arbitrarily disregarded the proposal. As the coronavirus pandemic grew, the Tsai administration rushed to pass the Special Act.
When the businesses urgently needed bailouts, the Tsai government firmly opposed the stimulus checks proposed by the KMT; believed by the public as the best way to the economic bailout, whereas the Tsai administration insisted on a complicated plan that the public cannot understand.
During the Dragon Boat Festival holidays, the highway was ever congested for 36 hours, but Lin Chia-lung, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, said: "It is the people’s choice to be involved in the traffic jam," This is not an appropriate attitude from a standing party to respond to the public. Lin Chia-lung’s ignorance completely demonstrated how overbearing the government is!
Today, Chen Chu, a nominee from Tsai to be the President of the Control Yaun, disqualification of whom is already a “consensus of the public”. Instead of facing up questions about Chen's qualifications for her notorious record of corrective measures and impeachments, President Tsai resisted withdrawing her nomination of Chen. Tsai's obstinacy had left the KMT with no alternative but to occupy the Legislative Yuan for a parliamentary boycott. KMT’s action today is the only way to get President Tsai Ing-wen back on track!
