會寫下這首歌的原因說起來有點有趣：租房子。
離開家鄉10多年，偶爾還是會面對「異鄉人」身份的問題。當初為了租房而受到仲介公司的處處刁難，真的又氣又沮喪。或許在別人眼裡就是個丁點大的小事，對當時的我而言卻真是感受深切的大事。
在溝通協調的過程中，我選擇了轉念。唉聲嘆氣和抱怨並不能解決問題，只會更讓自己困在負面情緒的泥沼中。還好有信仰，我可以把這些挫折、無奈、難過帶到祂的面前，想著祂，就有勇氣繼續面對挑戰。
就在這樣的心境下寫了詞曲，和上吉他彈奏旋律，唱著唱著，困難也就隨著時間漸漸雲淡風輕了。
I wrote this song because of a quirky reason: rental problems.
There was once in my life that I had a really bad experience with a rental agency, and it lasted for a year. By the end of that year, I was fuming internally with anger every time I talked to them.
But I remember getting on a bus after a disturbing exchange and feeling particularly revengeful. Then it struck me that all this anger was pretty ugly but I was stuck in it. Then, I remembered a verse in the Bible that went like this: "From the end of the earth will I cry unto You, when my heart is overwhelmed". When I read it, something inside me broke, and I released all that bitterness, and this song came to me. And when I got to Taiwan, my dear lyrics partner translated the lyrics.
