Just got my hands on a pair of AJ1 retro high og "knicks" colorway that was released in limited quantities back in 2013. 😁✌🏻️ So the story is that back in 1996, MJ was so close to joining the Knicks. Apparently the Knicks offered $25 million a year to bring MJ to the Big Apple. MJ's agent then called the Bulls and said they had one hour to beat that number or he was signing. Luckily, Chicago delivered a contract worth $30 million, which would make him the highest paid athlete in professional sports history. MJ then signed and the Bulls won their fifth championship later that season. To this day few people realize how close it came to there being no second three-peat.
