Snapdragon 712 mới được xây dựng trên cùng quy trình 10nm với Snapdragon 710 nhưng được cho là mang lại hiệu suất tăng 10%. Qualcomm cho biết SD 712 không chỉ thừa hưởng mọi tính năng AI và các tính năng đỉnh cao khác của nền tảng di động Snapdragon 710 thế hệ trước, mà còn cải thiện hiệu năng chơi game và một số trải nghiệm khác. Chi tiết về những cải thiện này dù không được tiết lộ nhưng theo giới thạo tin, nó có liên quan đến tốc độ xung nhịp 2.3 Ghz, vốn cao hơn một chút so với SD 710.Ngoài ra, bộ xử lý Snapdragon 712 được quảng cáo là có khả năng đạt tốc độ xử lý và kết xuất đồ họa nhanh hơn trong khi chơi game, nên cho phép người dùng chơi những tựa game nặng, game nhiều người chơi mà tốc độ phản hồi vẫn rất nhanh, xử lý mượt mà. Ngoài ra Snapdragon 712 còn hỗ trợ công nghệ Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, giúp người dùng chỉ mất 15 phút để sạc pin từ 0% đến 50%.
