A Smart Nation is about applying technology to solve real problems that will improve people’s lives. This progress must benefit everyone, and we must ensure that no one is left behind.

Being a #SmartNation is not about being the country with the glitziest gadgets and gizmos. Instead, it's about using technology to solve problems we face, and making a positive difference to people’s lives.
To succeed, we need to develop our engineering capabilities, as well as attract talent who understand tech to make it happen. And most importantly, we need Singaporeans to embrace technology so that we can progress and overcome challenges together.
At the Smart Nation Summit yesterday, I mentioned things we are doing to become a Smart Nation and factors that will influence this objective. Was asked about Singapore and the tech scene by the participants too. Though someone did ask an off-topic question on what my favourite durian cultivar was!
