The world faces many challenges – climate change, rising isolationism and protectionism. A rules-based multilateral system benefits all countries, and is especially important for the survival of small countries like Singapore.

As the UN heads into its 75th anniversary, it is good to remember how countries have benefitted from this organisation in the past, while acknowledging that the world has evolved and needs new solutions. Visited the Vessel at Hudson Yards in Manhattan yesterday. This spectacular structure opened earlier this year, and was designed by Thomas Heatherwick, the same designer who worked on the Learning Hub at NTU.
