At the annual American Innovation Center (AIC) Innovation Forum on September 23, AIT invited keynote speakers and visionary thinkers from Taiwan and abroad to share their views on how the COVID-19 pandemic will impact the development of next-generation hardware and software, with a particular focus on the convergence of human and artificial intelligence interfaces. Participants included university students, tech and design leaders, and those who believe that technology and design impacts all aspects of our lives. The forum celebrated the fact that Taiwan is a global leader that embraces innovation, entrepreneurship, and private sector-led growth, while holding true to its democratic principles. This year’s Innovation Forum highlighted how innovation and design can build a better world for all of us. #RealFriendRealProgress #AmericanInnovationCenter

Taiwan’s vibrant civil society is reflected in the diversity of its film festivals. For six consecutive years, AIT has been honored to support the Women Make Waves Film Festival. This year’s festival features seven U.S. titles, including Salome, a 1923 silent film classic selected for preservation by the Library of Congress for its cultural, historic and aesthetic significance. At the press conference, AIT’s newly onboard Public Diplomacy Section Chief Diane Sovereign expressed her hope that the festival would stimulate broader conversations on women’s issues in a post-COVID-19 world. The festival will run from Oct. 16 - 25 at SPOT-Huashan Cinema. We encourage you to watch the trailers to these powerful films!
