Did you know that we all have someone who loves us very much? Who is so close to our hearts? Who loves us more than our friends, our family...more than our own parents! In fact, he loved us more than a thousand years before we were even born into this world! He loved us so much that his love carried on until he breathed his last breath - the words he uttered on his deathbed were "Ummati, ummati, ummati"!
Every year, the 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal marks the birth of this great lover, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is obviously a very special day for us - if even our birthday is special to us, just imagine how significant the birthday of our beloved Prophet is! But if he is so special, why celebrate only one single day every year? On Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, we always say that we should be celebrating our parents every day, not just on those specifically allocated days. So surely, our beloved Prophet deserves more than just a day in his honour! In fact, in each of our five daily prayers, we pledge two things: that Allah is our one and only God, and Muhammad is His messenger. This is a sign of just how high the status of our Prophet is held.
We should remember the Prophet every single day, every minute, every second of our lives. We should strive to live our life in his footsteps and follow his examples - they truly are timeless, and are still relevant after hundreds of years! All of this is what my parents have passed on to me about this great lover, and it’s inspired me to try to live up to his love, to repay his love, to be worthy of his love and follow the path he has walked. Let’s not waste today as just a one-off celebration, but together, let’s make today the turning point of living our lives by following the Sunnah our Prophet left behind. May Allah keep me and all of us under His guidance so we can all gather with our beloved Prophet one sweet day in Jannatul Firdaus...

O Allah, send Your peace and blessings always and forever upon Your Beloved One - the best of the entire creation.

Dear friends of the Christian faith,
Allow me on this auspicious occasion - a day remembering sacrifice, generosity and tackling challenges with much courage! - to wish all of you the most meaningful of Christmases and a heart filled with hope as we enter 2017.
Sincerely,
NIA
I do believe we have sufficient validation to reciprocate the love and camaraderie from our Christian friends. But I am appreciative of the support shown on this festive day by none other than our Wilayah Mufti. May such courageous and sound voices propagate further in an age where bigotry and hatred seem to reign. Love, compassion and care will eventually triumph.
