Our Master Suite focuses on comfort and relaxation...and 2 badass walk in closets! The episode focuses on why I made the choices I did in terms of room sizing and layouts, and how we got it all to come together + one VERY annoying master bedroom door.
NOTE: I don’t cover this in the episode, but wanted to share this tip for first floor bedrooms… I framed the ceiling down in the master because I had such high ceilings to begin with. This allowed me to separate the ceiling structure from the floor structure above thereby eliminating vibration (the number one thing that causes sound transfer in a home) from above. I used Rockwool Safe N Sound in the floor structure, then an air gap, then Safe N Sound again in the master ceiling…you can basically have a party upstairs and someone can still sleep soundly in the bedroom.
