Build your Life Upon Truth
“Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor...For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble; each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man’s work is. If any man’s work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:8, 11-15 WEB)
View your time as money (a resource). You have received an amount of time from God, and this is what He entrusted to you. You must allocate the time for different uses.
Some time will be spent to exchange for this world’s currency for daily needs, but make sure that you also exchange your time for eternal rewards by furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
““When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business. The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’ “He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’” (Luke 19:15-17 WEB)
We have been generously supplied with time, gifts, people, and other resources. This is God’s Grace towards us, and we must acknowledge that we are just stewards of what belongs to Him.
When it is time for the Lord Jesus to take account for the way you used the time He gave to you, hopefully you can also say that you wisely invested your time, multiplying it to produce a larger return for the Kingdom!
Judgment day for Christians is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, it is a day for receiving eternal rewards. How do you maximize your rewards, identify your God-given calling in life, and step into that to enjoy a worthy life? I share a whole book about that in “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”.
This was the first book I wrote, and it is full of revelation about our eternal rewards which are hardly taught about in pulpits today (I’ve never heard anyone preaching this): http://bit.ly/sandcastlesdontlastforever

Learning from the Destruction of Sodom
“and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was very distressed by the lustful life of the wicked (for that righteous man dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day with seeing and hearing lawless deeds):” (2 Peter 2:6-8 WEB)
The apostle Peter wrote that Abraham’s nephew, Lot, was righteous. By this, we know that he is saved and that he got saved because he had faith in Yahweh.
However, Lot’s end was tragic. He escaped from Sodom with no possessions except for the clothes on his back, his wife, and his two daughters.
On the way out of the city, his wife turned back after being told not to, and was turned into a pillar of salt.
Afterwards, Lot settled in a cave because of fear.
“When God destroyed the cities of the plain, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot lived. Lot went up out of Zoar, and lived in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to live in Zoar. He lived in a cave with his two daughters. The firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in to us in the way of all the earth. Come, let’s make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve our father’s family line.” They made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father. He didn’t know when she lay down, nor when she arose. It came to pass on the next day, that the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine again, tonight. You go in, and lie with him, that we may preserve our father’s family line. ” They made their father drink wine that night also. The younger went and lay with him. He didn’t know when she lay down, nor when she got up. Thus both of Lot’s daughters were with child by their father.” (Genesis 19:29-36 WEB)
Seeing the scale of destruction, Lot’s two daughters thought that the whole world was destroyed and that there were no other men left, so they proceeded to make Lot drunk with alcohol, and slept with him to bear children. After that traumatic experience, all they could think about was sleeping with a man!
This was a righteous man’s ending because he chose to live a worldly life.
This all began because Lot decided to walk by sight. Abraham and Lot’s flocks had grown so much that they could not live together anymore. When Abraham asked Lot to choose where to separate himself to, Lot chose based on what he saw, without praying to ask for God’s counsel—he was walking by sight.
“Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well-watered everywhere, before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as you go to Zoar. So Lot chose the Plain of the Jordan for himself. Lot traveled east, and they separated themselves the one from the other.” (Genesis 13:10-11 WEB)
We learn from the Book of Proverbs that there is a way that seems right to a man, but it only leads to death.
“There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” (Proverbs 14:12 WEB)
From then on, righteous Lot was tormented in his soul (mind, will, and emotions) every day from seeing and hearing the wickedness of the people in Sodom.
Not only him, but his family was exposed to this worldliness daily as well.
We who are born-again will feel this tormented soul state even more so than Lot because we have the Holy Spirit inside us. Our born-again spirit hates what is evil and loves what is good.
This is why if genuine Christians fall into sin, they will hate it and want to be delivered from sinful habits and lifestyles.
Lot’s wife turned back to Sodom because her heart was full of the world. Her treasures were in that city. When she looked back after the angels told her not to, it revealed that she was not really saved (she had no faith in Yahweh).
The wicked ways of Sodom had also rubbed off on Lot’s daughters. They learned to make their father drunk and do something as vile as committing incest with their father.
All these tragedies happened because Lot chose to put himself and his family in a worldly environment, without leaving Sodom before its destruction. He failed as the head of the house.
Worldliness will ruin Christians and cause them to live defeated lives. They stop reading God’s word and praying, and instead use all their time and effort to pursue what the world runs after, only rushing towards their destruction. Unnecessary hurts and suffering are sure to come.
What example are you setting for your family? Are your daily habits leading them closer to God’s ways, or drawing them away from His ways and towards the world instead?
Are you focusing on earthly things like “gold, silver, costly stones”, or is your heart on the things of God which are heavenly?
When the time comes for you to stand before Jesus’ throne, don’t be like Lot who escaped with nothing but his life. Lot’s works were all burnt up, and he got out of the city with nothing, like he lived his whole live in vain.
When the day comes for your eternal rewards to be measured, I hope that you will be happy with the way you invested your time in this life. When you build your life upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, with the Gospel and its advancement as your chief goal, there is no way you will be shortchanged on ‘awards day’.
What is the point of chasing foolish things in this lifetime only to end up with nothing that lasts forever, as if you are saved through fire with all your works burnt up? Be wise—walk by faith, not by sight. God’s word is true.

Speak Shalom Even in the Face of Death
“The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season, when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her. When the child was grown, one day he went out to his father to the reapers. He said to his father, “My head! My head!” He said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.” When he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died. She went up and laid him on the man of God’s bed, and shut the door on him, and went out. She called to her husband, and said, “Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.” He said, “Why would you want go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.” She said, “It’s alright.” Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward! Don’t slow down for me, unless I ask you to.” So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite. Please run now to meet her, and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with your child?’” She answered, “It is well.” When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, “Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me.” Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me’?” Then he said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.” The child’s mother said, “As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose, and followed her.” (2 Kings 4:17-30 WEB)
The Shunammite woman didn’t declare that her son was dead.
Even when she saw something as traumatizing as her son dying in her arms, she restrained from confessing death.
In the Hebrew, when asked by her husband and Gehazi, her replies were both just one word: “Shalom”.
She declared completeness and wholeness—this includes peace, health and prosperity.
Why didn’t she tell anyone that her son had died (not even to Elisha)? It was because she still had faith that Elisha could raise him back to life.
She kept the faith and confessed shalom, even when her heart was broken and her mind and emotions must have been in shock.
Faith plus persistence pays off. The Shunammite woman was consistent in consenting for Yahweh to make “shalom” a reality in her son’s life.
She eventually received her son, whom Elisha raised back to life through the power of God.
“He called Gehazi, and said, “Call this Shunammite!” So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, “Take up your son.” Then she went in, fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; then she picked up her son, and went out.” (2 Kings 4:36-37 WEB)
When death is staring at you in the face, can you still declare “shalom” to that situation? If God can even raise the dead, then there is nothing impossible for Him.
Speak life and believe that God can reverse the death and bring in restoration of life. Today, you don’t need a prophet like Elisha before miracles can manifest. Every born-again believer has the authority in Jesus’ name to speak by faith and see miracles happen. However, many do not know this because they aren’t familiar with the Scriptures and what it says about their inheritance and birthright in Christ.
It’s no wonder that my favorite greeting or declaration of blessing is simply “shalom”. It is a wonderful, all-encompassing blessing of life. Speak shalom over your body, your family, your livelihood, your ministry, and your life today!
A prophet that is greater than Elisha has come, and His name is Jesus! When it comes to having a style, I’d say my style is “Athleisure” as I’m in activewear most of the time. Haha! You will almost always find me in my black tights whether I'm at the gym or not. So Soo Hua is going to help me create 6 different looks that go well with black tights but lets me still feel comfortable.
LOOK 1: Office & Work Meetings
This first look is suitable for the office and even meetings. The design of this white top is structured and fitting to my body. It is not too body hugging or too loose. And the black and white combination portrays a professional image. Pair it with simple black heels and a structured handbag to complete this smart & sophisticated look.
LOOK 2: Lunch / Coffee Appointment with Work Associates
This look is great for lunch or coffee appointments with work associates. It’s not something I’d normally wear as I don't usually go for loose fitting attire. Soo Hua however convinced me that wearing loose fitting clothes can create a more relaxed vibe and atmosphere when meeting with people and building work relationships.
I love the red heels, which add more excitement to my overall look. This certainly does fit with my lively outlook without being too serious. And a simple clutch compliments this casual and relaxed look.
LOOK 3: Brunch / Hi-Tea with Friends
The third outfit is something I’d put on over the weekend to meet with friends over brunch or hi-tea. This simple blue striped top with its minimal detail suits my casual style. Soo Hua has me pairing it with slippers for a more laid back vibe. I’m accessorizing it with the same clutch from the previous look.
LOOK 4: Casual Office Attire
Somedays I want to just lay low, especially when I have lots going on, having to run about or when I have to work long hours in the office. This simple pairing of a loose fitting black long top against the black tights and black heels are really comfortable and just right. For a slightly more sophisticated look, we’re going with my brown leather bag.
LOOK 5: Dinner / Night Outings
If I have a dinner appointment, all I have to do is change the heels and handbag and voila, I’m ready for a good night out! I love the choice of the red heels as it lifts my mood and a nice simple clutch is all I need to keep my necessities.
LOOK 6: Party
I’ve always loved cropped tops, so for my upcoming birthday party, Soo Hua has chosen this lovely piece. The cut is fun and fits my personality making me feel great and confident.
The ruffles and drop shoulders gives emphasis on my neckline, which is one of my favourite parts of my body. Plus this material is so easy to manage. I complete the look with these heels, simple cause it’s my special day and the red heels are a killer.
All the best! xx

Iverson reminds 76ers what they once had in Nuggets' win
When Allen Iverson first played against the Philadelphia 76ers, he took shots at them before, during and after the game.
This time, he saved them just for the court, then showered his old team with praise that indicated he's gotten over the bitter split.
"They've got a lot of talent on that team. They've got a lot of guys that can do things, and they've got a lot of guys that care, guys with pride," Iverson said after scoring 38 points in Denver's 109-96 win Sunday night. "It could be easy for those guys to lay down. After I left, they could have just laid down. But that ain't the type of personality most of those guys on that team have. They want to win.
"I'm pretty sure they want to prove they can win without me. That's what they should do. I just hope they continue to play hard and play every game like it's their last. I just wish them well. ... I just want to see things get better for them."
For the first time in his career, Iverson may have enjoyed watching the 76ers lose, but he swore he took no extra gratification in it.
"People ask that question all day, but my whole thing is to just win the basketball game," Iverson insisted. "If I had a big game and we didn't win I would be feeling terrible right now. I'm just happy we got the win. Like I said, it's just another basketball game, we went through that whole song and dance last year when they came in here. It wasn't any big deal to me. I just wanted to contribute."
No big deal? Nuggets coach George Karl knows better.
"I don't know if there was an extra bounce, I just think it was a seriousness in his approach," Karl said. "He's been playing pretty good against other teams, too. I was happy for him to have a big night against his old team. In a lot ways we needed him to.
"We weren't very pretty offensively, and I thought his penetration at any moment broke their defense down quite frequently. He got a lot of easy layups because of it. It was a good part of our offense."
Andre Miller, one of the players the Nuggets sent to the Sixers in exchange for Iverson, led Philadelphia with 22 points, including a jumper that erased the remnants of a 15-point deficit and tied it at 62.
Iverson answered with back-to-back 3-pointers and the Nuggets never trailed in staying a half-game ahead of Portland, which has lost just one of its last 17 games, in the Northwest Division.
Iverson's first game against his old team came just three weeks after his nasty 2006 divorce from the 76ers and he was still bitter at the time with the way coach Maurice Cheeks and team owner Billy King handled his complaints that led to his departure after a decade in Philly.
He scored 30 in that game last January but didn't stick around for the end, drawing an ejection in the final minutes of a 108-97 loss.
The Nuggets had already visited Philadelphia by the time they acquired Iverson, so his first trip back comes March 19, and Iverson isn't sure what to expect or whether it will be a more emotional experience for him than Sunday night was.
"Maybe. You don't know what the environment's going to be like," Iverson said. "I know it's going to be strange because I played there so many years and I fell in love with the fans there. I was a part of them, they were a part of me. It's obviously going to be different.
"The whole thing is just winning the basketball game. Doing whatever it takes. If you ask me how many points I was going to score tonight, I never know what I'm going to do. I never know how many points I'm going to score. If I didn't score anything I was going to do other things on the basketball court to help my team win. Fortunately, the ball was going in the basket tonight."
Iverson had 15 points in the first quarter and 20 by halftime.
"Same Allen," Sixers forward Andre Iguodala said. "Great job when he is attacking the basket. Great job of creating some type of contact and getting to the foul line a lot. That's what he does. He seems happy. He is enjoying himself."
Maybe so, but Cheeks said he didn't notice anything extra in Iverson's game -- he's always going full-tilt anyhow.
"He can score when I had him. He can score now," Cheeks said. "That is his strong point. What he did tonight is no different than he did when he was here with us."
Game notes
Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points, including 19 to help the Denver build a 53-43 halftime lead. ... Anthony Carter tied his career high with 15 assists for Denver, and the Nuggets blocked a season-best 15 shots. ... Sixers rookie Jason Smith, who grew up an hour from Denver in Kersey, Colo., and attended Colorado State, stuffed Nene on an attempted slam moments after entering the game.
