We’re wrapping up Intellectual Property Rights Week! The Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO), Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TPAA), Sports Administration (SA) and Motion Picture Association (MPA) of America cohosted a World IP Day event in Taipei on April 25. The theme this year is “Reach for Gold: IP and Sports.” More than 70 people attended the event to learn about how intellectual property rights protection works hand in hand to promote sports. Whether it is copyrighted telecasts or trademarked athletic apparel, strong IPR leads to a competitive environment for sports. AIT Economic Officer Phillip Loosli spoke at the event to express support from the United States for Taiwan’s efforts of covering sports industry in IP protection field.
