【臺大‧南卡大合作簽署成立《東西文學與文化研究叢書》 加速臺灣學術英文出版與國際人文學界接軌】

國立臺灣大學出版中心跨出國際出版合作的一大步，在今年四月與美國南卡羅來納大學出版社簽訂合作協議，共同推出以英文撰寫的跨領域文學文化學術研究叢書──《東西文學與文化研究叢書》(East-West Encounters in Literature and Cultural Studies)。
此叢書聚焦語言、文學、戲劇與文化研究，含括東西方前殖民、後殖民、現代或當代等各時期之跨領域研究主題，透過國際學術出版，為國內外學界提供一個發表最前沿研究成果的平台。
本叢書將由南卡羅來納大學副校長暨國際長、古典及比較文學特聘教授Paul Allen Miller，以及國立臺灣大學外國語文學系暨研究所傅友祥教授與李紀舍副教授三人共同擔任叢書主編。
叢書主編Miller表示，「這套新叢書，對我們兩個優秀的大學出版社而言，不僅是一個歷史性的突破進展，更為東西方文化互動，提供了一個發表創新研究的新管道」。他並補充，「我們尋求的，不僅是探問東西方文化互動的實際境況，同時也鼓勵新對話、開闢嶄新的視野，並在世界歷史此一關鍵時刻中建立真正的全球觀點。」
叢書主編傅友祥教授提到：「在經歷逾兩年的雙邊商談後，此次難得的合作出版計畫是連結東亞與英語學界在文學文化研究成果的一大里程碑。」李紀舍教授亦強調此一出版的重要性：「我們也希望藉由此合作案，拓展本叢書出版品的讀者群，打破洲際的地理侷限。」
本叢書第一部作品 Digitalizing the Global Text: Philosophy, Literature, and Culture 將於2019年12月由臺大出版中心與南卡大學出版社共同出版，未來計畫出版包括「世界主義」(cosmopolitanism)與「全球酷兒性別議題」(global queer sexualities )主題的專論合著。
本叢書以單一作者專書出版為主，竭誠歡迎學界先進賢達踴躍賜稿。南卡大學出版社亦同步在非亞洲地區發佈此雙邊合作的正式新聞稿。關於相關投稿資訊，請另詳見臺大出版中心《東西文學與文化研究叢書》系列徵稿須知。
