Same Throne, Different Judgments
(A Christian man stands before the judgment seat of Christ. Angels and other people look on solemnly.)
Jesus: “Tim, I see from your records that you have stolen things and watched indecent material online. You also keep frequenting the clubs and skipping church services. I sentence you to removal of hands, eyes and feet. Angels, please carry on.”
*After gouging, sawing and screaming*
Jesus: “Alright, now that you’ve received your fair punishments, here’s a golden mansion as your reward for the good that you’ve done. Welcome to eternity in New Jerusalem!” Gu
(Without eyes, hands or feet, Tim floats in his glorified body, blindly groping his way towards his new golden mansion.)
——
“For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10 WEB)
After reading the verse above, Christians may have some frightful imaginations like the imaginary scene I wrote above.
They are so afraid that Jesus will publicly call out their sins when its time to stand before His throne, and punish them severely for their sins.
Well-meaning believers with a genuine desire to please God misinterpret and don’t realize that all people—both believers and unbelievers, must stand before the same judgment seat of Christ, but at different times.
At the start of the Millennial reign of Christ, at the event called “The Marriage Supper of the Lamb”, believers will stand before Jesus to receive their rewards for all the good things that have done for Jesus’ sake.
There will be no punishments dealt that day. Huh? But the verse says “whether good or bad”.
Okay, listen. Jesus already took all the punishment for the bad things you have done—it was completed at the cross. He is not going to punish you because you are already forgiven and God promises to remember your sins no more.
So who will receive for the “bad” things they have done? That will happen to unbelievers. They will also stand before the same throne, but only at the end of time, at least 1000 years later.
Popularly referred to as the “Great White Throne Judgment”, it is actually Jesus sitting on the same throne as “the Judgment Seat of Christ”, but at a different time.
All unbelievers will be sentenced to eternal torment in the lake of fire based on the works they have done in their lifetime. They are the ones who will receive for the “bad” that they’ve done.
So, dear child of God, set your heart at ease. There is no punishment for you to receive when you stand before Jesus’ beautiful white throne in the future. You will only receive rewards, based on the good you have done. You can look forward to award ceremony day!
In “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”, you will discover the exciting and powerful truths about your eternal rewards and how judgment differs for believers and unbelievers.

Sometimes we want to talk to God but simply have no words. It could be a case of the mind being so tired and burnt out that it can’t even string together a sentence that seems acceptable to speak to God.
In this case, the go-to prayer is not “Forgive me Father for I have sinned...” That is sin consciousness and if you’re a believer, Abba God doesn’t want you to keep harping on old debts they have already been forgiven based on Jesus’ finished work at the cross.
To constantly have sin on your conscience reflects a heart that doesn’t believe that it is fully forgiven. The author of the epistle to the Hebrews calls this “an evil conscience”—one that doesn’t believe Jesus really paid for all sins. It is an evil and proud belief that a person can make atonement for his sins by his works.
When you have no prayer left, pray in the Spirit. It is also called praying in tongues. You don’t even have to use your mind when praying in tongues. It is so restful and easy to start and stop anytime.
It is the humblest and most surrendered form of prayer because you’re trusting the Holy Spirit to provide all the utterances and trusting that whatever you’re speaking is for your own good, even when you don’t understand a single word with your mind.
“For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also...I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.” (1 Corinthians 14:14-15, 18 WEB)
When you pray in tongues, your spirit is praying a heavenly language that your mind of flesh doesn’t understand. There must be great benefits for praying in tongues, otherwise the apostle Paul wouldn’t have said that he prayed in tongues more than everyone in the Corinthian church who were zealous for spiritual gifts, especially the gift of praying in tongues. He is not praying in tongues so much just for fun.
Learn more about the gift of praying in tongues which I believe is the only way to offer perfect prayers perfectly every time:

Bach leads us from the valley of death and darkness to the final and light Last Supper in Paradise. Rudolf Lutz will demonstrate on the organ (Friday, April 17th, 2020, from 6.45 P.M. onwards) that the movements of BWV 4 "Christ lag in Todesbanden" could also be interpreted as chorale preludes.

There is not much else we could do (with the means still available and permitted) in order to maintain our memories of the cantata concert we had originally planned, but performing the very piece of music—just in a different way, namely with our proven one-man ensemble, Rudolf Lutz, at the keyboard and on the organ.

Programme
Friday, April 17th, 2020, from 6:45 P.M. onwards
Rudolf Lutz will demonstrate on the organ at the church of Stein that the movements of this cantata could also be interpreted as chorale preludes. While Bach certainly set out to demonstrate his striking ability to illuminate the individual paintings that the cantata movements represent, Rudolf Lutz will illuminate the complexity of chorale preluding on the basis of this cantata.
In view of the prevailing epidemic and its serious consequences, but also and especially because of the text and the music, this will not be an easy fare. Consolation is not in sight. We cannot change it, neither can we gloss over the current situation nor play down the story told at Easter. Who would have thought until very recently that a sentence by Luther such as "the strangler can no longer harm us" would suddenly become today’s thrusting prayer?
1. Sinfonia
2. Versus 1
Christ lag in Todes Banden
für unsre Sünd gegeben,
er ist wieder erstanden
und hat uns bracht das Leben.
Des wir sollen fröhlich sein,
Gott loben und ihm dankbar sein
und singen halleluja. Halleluja.
3. Versus 2
Den Tod niemand zwingen kunnt
bei allen Menschenkindern;
das macht’ alles unsre Sünd,
kein Unschuld war zu finden.
Davon kam der Tod so bald
und nahm über uns Gewalt,
hielt uns in seinem Reich gefangen.
Halleluja.
4. Versus 3
Jesus Christus, Gottes Sohn,
an unsre Statt ist kommen
und hat die Sünde weggetan,
damit dem Tod genommen
all sein Recht und sein Gewalt;
da bleibet nichts denn Tods Gestalt,
den Stachel hat er verloren.
Halleluja.
5. Versus 4
Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg,
da Tod und Leben rungen;
das Leben da behielt den Sieg,
das Leben behielt den Sieg,
es hat den Tod verschlungen.
Die Schrift hat verkündiget das,
wie ein Tod den andern fraß,
ein Spott aus dem Tod ist worden.
Halleluja.
6. Versus 5
Hie ist das rechte Osterlamm,
davon Gott hat geboten,
das ist hoch an des Kreuzes Stamm
in heißer Lieb gebraten.
Das Blut zeichnet unser Tür,
das hält der Glaub dem Tode für,
der Würger kann uns nicht mehr schaden.
Halleluja.
7. Versus 6
So feiren wir das hohe Fest
mit Herzensfreud und Wonne,
das uns der Herr erscheinen läßt.
Er ist selber die Sonne,
der durch seiner Gnaden Glanz
erleuchtet unsre Herzen ganz,
der Sünden Nacht ist verschwunden.
Halleluja.
8. Choral Versus 7
Wir essen und leben wohl
in rechten Osterfladen;
der alte Sauerteig nicht soll
sein bei dem Wort der Gnaden.
Christus will die Koste sein
und speisen die Seel allein,
der Glaub will keins andern leben.
Halleluja.
Rudolf Lutz is not only regarded in the music world as an eloquent pedagogue, able to explain complex compositional contexts in a vivid way, but he is also one of the most sought-after improvisers worldwide. He will give his presentation in English to do justice to our large Internet community.
The church of Stein AR has a very valuable instrument built by Orgelbau Kuhn AG in 1985. We love to hold organ recitals there, and many visitors of the "Appenzeller Bachtage" know the beautiful church because of "Singen in der Früh", the popular sing-along programme in our festival in August.

Hi guys,
this song was recently represented at my church, New Creation Church's youth camp called "Legacy" and the minute we first worshipped to the song, it resonated so loudly in my spirit.
"When all I am is lost in who You are" is my favourite lyrics of the song and it is because, I think for a lot of us, we get plagued with many evil, negative thoughts of what other think of us, or if we are validated by them, and that sentence spoke to me on a deep level.
Replacing my identity with something that was so painfully but willingly given to me, the title of 'righteous' and 'loved'... How beautiful is the Lord Jesus?
Thanks Pastor Daniel and Sean for writing this beautiful song, may you continue to write such anointed songs for the glory of God!!!
Special mention too to my bro Aaron for playing the amazing keys, it's so anointed man!!!
Be blessed :)
Regards,
Dominic Chin
