【New year celebration in Hong Kong 🎊🎊🎊 】Are you ready for 2019? (A big “no” for me, I just realized today is the 30th, and it is time for me to publish a post on new year countdown 😂). Join the 10-minute firework display at 00:00 along the waterfront of the Victoria harbour on 1st Jan 2019! I like to watch the firework from the Tsim Sha Tsui side as you have the skyscrapers as the backdrop. However, it is also a good idea to enjoy the firework in Central or Wan Chai! Make sure you arrive at the venue early as there will be a lot of people that you can’t even walk 😂 If you plan to watch the firework in Tsim Sha Tsui, arrive AT LEAST 1.5 hour (or I should say 2) before the firework! In 2016, I arrived at the East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station at 11:00 pm and it was already too late! There are so many people along the Salisbury Road and I never arrived at the promenade. At last I watched the firework right BEHIND the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Luckily, we can still see the firework behind the cultural centre and the countdown celebration in the Peninsula was great! By the way the firework actually “starts” at 11:00pm. There will be shooting stars in 15 minutes intervals called “Wish Upon on Star”.
