It’s a made-in-Singapore baby panda boy! 🐼
Jia Jia’s carers at Wildlife Reserves Singapore decided to leave the newborn baby with first-time mum Jia Jia as much as possible, which meant that they have only been able to determine its sex now, in consultation with experts from the China Conservation and Research Centre for Giant Panda. WRS is inviting members of the public to submit names for the cub before it turns 100 days old on 21 November: www.wrs.com.sg/pandacub
As newborn panda cubs cannot see and hear, they rely heavily on their mothers for food and protection. Jia Jia has been doing a wonderful job caring for her cub over the past month, and her parenting journey has been supported by the entire WRS team. Well done everyone! – LHL
