Sanctified by Faith in Jesus
““Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests, at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me. When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ “I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which I will reveal to you; delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you, to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’” (Acts 26:12-18 WEB)
It is rare and precious to read the words spoken from the glorified Jesus’ mouth.
I want to draw your attention to His last words to Saul, “those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”
The word for sanctify in the Greek is “hagiazó” which means to make holy, or set apart as something special.
By faith in Jesus, you have been separated from the darkness of the world and from Satan’s power. You have been transferred into the Kingdom of light and brought near to God.
You are now very precious to God—sanctified. A sanctified person is called a “saint”. Did you know you are a saint?
Also, notice how Jesus spoke so tenderly and yet authoritatively to Saul. Saul had just arrested so many believers, persecuting the body of Christ, and yet Jesus was concerned about how Saul would only be harming himself by persecuting the church.
Power, love, and majesty fully realized in one person. Our Lord Jesus is so worthy of our worship and praise.
Finally, if there is any doubt that Jesus spoke Hebrew to His disciples, the passage clearly says that Jesus spoke to Saul “in the Hebrew language”.

The God Who Created Leviathan is your Loving Father
“His sneezing flashes out light. His eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning torches. Sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils a smoke goes, as of a boiling pot over a fire of reeds. His breath kindles coals. A flame goes out of his mouth.” (Job 41:18-21 WEB)
There is a fearsome sea creature which God made, called “Leviathan”. It lives in the depths of the sea and breathes fire out of its mouth, like a dragon.
When Job spoke unwisely against God, God mentioned the Leviathan and told Job how powerful this creature is.
““Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? Can you put a reed through his nose, Or pierce his jaw with a hook? Will he make many supplications to you? Will he speak softly to you? Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him as a servant forever? Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will you leash him for your maidens? Will your companions make a banquet of him? Will they apportion him among the merchants? Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears? Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle— Never do it again! Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false; Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him? No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against Me? Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.” (Job 41:1-11 NKJV)
It is a creature that no man can defeat. If no one can defeat this fire-breathing sea serpent, then who can hope to stand against the God who created Leviathan?
Meditate on that for a moment, and consider the awesome might of your God. Everything under Heaven is His.
Read the whole of Job 38 if you want to feel utterly small and unknowledgeable. Every question that God challenged Job with is unanswerable for us. We simply don’t have the answers and neither is it possible to obtain them unless God shows us.
“Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind, “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me! “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding. Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it? Whereupon were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke out of the womb, when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness, marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors, and said, ‘Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?’” (Job 38:1-11 WEB)
This same omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign God has become your loving Father. Jesus showed us His heart of grace towards us through His parable of the prodigal son:
““He said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.” (Luke 15:31 WEB)
God said to Job that everything under Heaven is His. He owns Heaven and earth. And to us who have been redeemed by Jesus’ blood, He says all that He has is ours.
Wow! Isn’t that an amazing truth to pause and meditate on? Everything that belongs to Abba God also belongs to you. You shall not lack any good thing. If you are in danger, the God who created Leviathan is your mighty Defender. That’s how generous, gracious, merciful and good your God is!
The parable of the prodigal son is beautiful, but there are also other parables. You can understand every parable and every miracle of Jesus Christ through the proper lens of Grace: https://bit.ly/understandeveryparable

" In Turin on the 3rd of January 1889, Friedrich Nietzsche steps out of the doorway of number six, Via Carlo Albert, perhaps to take a stroll, perhaps to go by the post office to collect his mail. Not far from him, the driver of a hansome cab is having trouble with a stubborn horse. Despite all his urging, the horse refuses to move, whereupon the driver - Giuseppe? Carlo? Ettore? - loses his patience and takes his whip to it. Nietzsche comes up to the throng and puts an end to the brutal scene caused by the driver, by this time foaming at the mouth with rage. For the solidly built and full-moustached gentleman suddenly jumps up to the cab and throws his arms around the horse's neck, sobbing. His landlord takes him home, he lies motionless and silent for two days on a divan until he mutters the obligatory last words "Mutter, ich bin dumm!" and lives for another ten years, silent and demented, under the care of his mother and sisters. We do not know what happened to the horse." - The Turin Horse (A torinói ló) by Béla Tarr

The Three Little Pigs
The story begins with the title characters being sent out into the world by their mother, to "seek out their fortune". The first little pig builds a house of straw, but a wolf blows it down and devours him. The second little pig builds a house of sticks, which the wolf also blows down, and the second little pig is also devoured. Each exchange between wolf and pig features ringing proverbial phrases, namely:
"Little pig, little pig, let me come in."
"No, no, by the hair on my chiny chin chin."
"Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in."
The third little pig builds a house of bricks. The wolf fails to blow down the house. He then attempts to trick the pig out of the house by asking to meet him at various places, but he is outwitted each time. Finally, the wolf resolves to come down the chimney, whereupon the pig catches the wolf in a cauldron of boiling water, slams the lid on, then cooks and eats him. In some versions, the first and second little pigs are not eaten by the wolf after he demolishes their homes, but instead run to their brother's house, and after the wolf goes down the chimney he either dies like in the original, or runs away and never returns to eat the three little pigs, who all survive in either case.
