Like it or love it, Ben Thanh Market is simply the icon of Saigon. Should tourists come there? Absolutely. Should they eat there? Why not? To be honest with you, this Saigon attraction is touristy, but it's also a convenient stop for those who want to buy souvenirs for their friends back home. While you're at it, you might as well grab a bite to eat or a drink in the food court area. The food costs are minimally more expensive than outside and a lot it tastes just fine. In fact, the bun rieu I had was very decent. You pay a little bit more for the ambiance and the environment. Do come to Ben Thanh Market and do eat the food there.
