SOUND AND VISION IS NEXT 40TH ANNIVERSARY PICTURE DISC
“Don’t you wonder sometimes...”
Originally released on Friday February 11th 1977 in the UK, Friday February 10th 2017 sees the release of the next David Bowie limited edition 40th anniversary picture disc on Parlophone, Sound And Vision.
A #3 UK hit for Bowie in 1977 when it was released as the first single from the timeless classic Low, Sound And Vision was unorthodox in that the lead vocal didn’t appear until half way through the song. It was unusual too for a single not to precede an album release, and considering this and the fact that RCA barely promoted the single in the UK, it’s surprising Sound And Vision performed so well on the chart.
Brilliantly produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti, the song features a guest vocal from Mary Visconti (Nee Hopkin), the co-producer’s then wife. It also boasts a backing vocal from Brian Eno and was the first record to feature his voice in the UK singles chart. (He didn’t sing on the early Roxy Music hits.)
The A side of this release has a brand new remaster of Sound And Vision, while the AA side sees the first physical release of the 2013 remix of the song. This beautiful, stripped-back remix by Sonjay Prabhakar was originally created for a Sony Experia advert and utilises the original Bowie lead vocal and Mary Visconti’s backing vocal with a new piano part.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is an international financial institution proposed by the government of China. The purpose of the multilateral development bank (多邊開發銀行) is to provide finance (提供資金) to infrastructure projects (基礎設施建設) in the Asia region.
AIIB is regarded by some countries as a rival for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank Group (WBG) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The idea of the AIIB was first mentioned in October 2013.The Chinese government wants greater input in global established institutions (想要在全球性的機構有更多的參與) like the ADB, which it claims are dominated by (受制於) American, European and Japanese interests. China also wants to finance infrastructure projects such as the construction or roads, ports, and railways in Asia and to play a greater role (扮演更大的角色) in the economic development (經濟發展) of the region, increasing its growing economic and political clout (經濟和政治影響力).
In June 2014, China proposed doubling the registered capital (加倍註冊資本) of the AIIB to $100 billion and invited India to participate in the founding of the bank (銀行的成立). On October 24, 2014, a signing ceremony held in Beijing formally recognized (正式認定) the establishment of the bank. Twenty-one countries, including China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Pressure from the US allegedly (據傳說) kept Australia and South Korea from signing up as founding members (創始成員) despite the two countries expressing interests.
In early March 2015, the United Kingdom had agreed to lend money to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, becoming the first major Western country to do so. The announcement was criticized by the United States, which expressed doubts about standards of governance of the AIIB (對AIIB管理標準質疑) in regard to whether its loans will carry adequate environmental, labor and social safeguards (環境、勞工和社會保障). However, the UK claimed that the subject had been discussed with the US Treasury Secretary (美國財政部長) for several months preceding the decision (在決定之前). The UK also stated that joining the bank as a founding member will allow Britain to influence the development of the institution Germany, France and Italy soon followed (很快地開始跟進) Britain's decision to join the AIIB, with the Germany Finance Minister stating that Germany’s long-standing experience (長期經驗) with international financial institutions will help the bank gain a high international reputation. In late March, 2015, South Korea announced its plan to join the AIIB, citing its potential in benefiting South Korean companies win deals in infrastructural projects as well expanding South Korea's influence in international banking as a founding member.
As of April, 2015, almost all Asian countries and most major countries outside Asia had joined the AIIB, except the USA, Japan, and Canada.

Jim Tomlinson
Jazz CD of the week,也在巴西獲得熱烈迴響。
Breakfast On The Morning Tram”,該專輯獲得葛萊美Blue Note專輯獎提名,其中四首歌是Jim和知名作曲Kazuo Ishiguro寫的,其中的金曲Ice Hotel則拿下2007年國際作曲大賞爵士類的第一名,而另外一首So Romantic則是拿下2008年的獎項。 這些專輯有Raconte-Moi (Blue Note 2010), Dreamer In Concert (Blue Note 2011) 以及巴西風格的The Changing Lights (Parlophone/Warner 2013).
As a kid, E-Classical Radio told: Why bought a CD for only its description on belly-band? So…what else makes us to buy a concert tickets except for fancy posters?
Here Simple-Arts would like to represent you every single member detailed introduction of Stacey Kent band including surely her beloved husband/Saxophonist and percussionists. Please Watch this!
Part Four
Saxophone-Jim Tomlinson
Perhaps best known for his work as the compelling counter-voice to singer and wife, Stacey Kent, Jim Tomlinson is increasingly recognised as a distinctive saxophone voice in his own right. The release of his debut album as leader, Only Trust Your Heart, was greeted with universal acclaim. His follow up CD, Brazilian Sketches, was named 'Jazz CD Of The Week' by the Observer newspaper in the UK as well as being very well received in Brazil and his third album as leader, The Lyric, won 'Album of the Year' at the 2006 BBC Jazz Awards.
Jim Tomlinson played the saxophone and ran a band as a hobby whilst studying for his degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at University College, Oxford. It was only after graduating and finding himself drawn to London’s jazz scene that he enrolled at the Guildhall School Of Music in 1990. It was at the Guildhall that his musical and romantic relationship with Stacey blossomed.
Since then, Tomlinson has worked in a wide variety of groups, from Bryan Ferry to the experimental big band composer, Michael Garrick and together with Stacey, they have recently recorded with legendary Brazilian composer, pianist and singer, Marcos Valle, as well as with the Quatuor Ébène, the French string quartet renowned equally for their award-winning recordings of the classical repertoire and their innovative performances of jazz, rock and world music. His own quartet has appeared at clubs and festivals across Europe. More recently, he has toured almost exclusively with Stacey, focussing increasingly on his songwriting, producing and arranging.
In 2007, Jim produced Stacey’s platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Blue Note album, Breakfast On The Morning Tram, for which he also wrote four new songs with the acclaimed author, Kazuo Ishiguro. Their song, The Ice Hotel, won first prize in the jazz category of the 2007 International Songwriting Competition and So Romantic was a finalist in the 2008 competition. He has also performed on, produced and written for Stacey's recent albums, Raconte-Moi (Blue Note 2010), Dreamer In Concert (Blue Note 2011) and the Brazilian-themed, The Changing Lights (Parlophone/Warner 2013).
When not performing, Jim and Stacey spend their time at their home in Colorado where they are able to divide their time between their music studio and the ski slopes of Aspen. They have also spent the last three summers studying portuguese at Middlebury college in Vermont, USA.
Their recent tours have taken them to more than
30 countries with numerous concert, festival and media appearances.
