[How #Beiing treats #ClimateStrike at home]
https://twitter.com/joshuawongcf/status/1310220073865535488
1. While #China claims to reach carbon neutrality by 2060, it is better for the world to draw attention to how this world’s biggest carbon emitter actually treats green activists at home.
2. Brave teen activist @howey_ou told @VICE, she was once taken to #police station after calling for #ClimateAction outside local gov offices. During interrogation, cops asked her about how she knew about #ClimateChange, why she protests every day and all ppl who had talked to me
3. She described green activism isn’t welcome at home when public criticism is viewed as acts of defiance and harshly punished, "It’s all about authority. They weren’t concerned about science or the planet at all.”
4. "They also seemed to know a lot about me and even had details about my friends — that was when I knew it wasn’t an innocent chat. I finally understood that these were officers from the national security bureau and realized that it wasn’t a casual arrest," she said.
5. Upon her release, she lost internet connection at home, barred from posting on Twitter, banned from school and restricted from talking to foreigners or journalists. While her phone number was suspended, police also phoned her parents for several days at their workplace.
6. Unlike other gov-funded NGOs that dare not challenge gov, Howey is excluded from events abt climate change in #China. While #Beijing silences scientists & hides facts from public, Chinese companies are allowed to destroy nature & many don’t care abt it nor believe in science.
7 When #China promises to take action, its tolerance on green activism is litmus test of its willingness to implement the plan.Don't forget China's 2015 documentary #UnderTheDome on air pollution was banned within a week after unveiling failure of Chinese regulations on pollution

(English version below)
Wealth-Boosting Beauty Tips

It was the Spring Festival about 2 years ago when I received a call from a stranger. It was a lady's voice on the other end, and as my usual practice, I asked her who recommended her to me, or from which channel she knew of me. She told me she was visiting the new home of her friend, and immediately got attracted by the good energy fields in the house. She felt in awe and elated at the same time, in any case, she felt very comfortable. She was sure that the Feng Shui Master behind this must be a competent one. When she had finished talking, I told her lightly that the energy fields of new houses are all generally good! However she insisted that it was due to my Feng Shui. One can see how confident this lady is.
This "confident" lady phoned me to seek my professional service. However, due to her "confidence", she was turned away when she did have the opportunity to transform her destiny. What a pity! Why does Master Dai Hu sigh? Why do I pity such a lady? Aren't cases like this a common sight to you? It is a common occurrence indeed. However, I have made vows to deliver sentient beings. How could I pass up the opportune affinity to do just that, leave sentient beings in their sufferings while I live my life worry-free? If that is so, how would I deserve your respect? I sighed because in her quest for beauty, this lady went for a cosmetic surgery but ended up with a botch job. She found the person capable of helping her, yet destroyed the chance with her "confidence".
Even though it is natural for a woman to beautify herself for her sweetheart, reality is that both men and women are inclined to make themselves happy by enhancing their beauty through plastic surgery. Master Dai Hu is an understanding person, and thus I am going to give out a big present again to my fans and all with whom I have affinity with. It will give you more confidence and pizazz as you walk in the sunshine, on the streets, into your workplace, or at any social gathering. If one is not endowed from birth, it is necessary to strive and work hard. To acquire beauty, you must focus on these few following points:
1. Examine your Bazi to find out what is your favorable element.
2. Based on the favorable element in your Bazi, select the beauty products, cosmetics, or the beauty salons you wish to visit.
3. Based on your favourable element in your Bazi, select the correct types of food and drinks.
If you do not know your own favourable element in your Bazi, fret not, I am going to teach you a non-Bazi related technique to make you prettier and richer at the same time. Honestly speaking, it yields the best result if you know the favourable element of your Bazi. However, if you do not know, then this method is the second best. Wash your face every time in lukewarm water, beginning from the forehead to your nose, then to your cheeks before moving down to your chin and neck. Minimize consumption of coffee or other drinks with stimulants. In your choice of desserts, opt for beancurd skin and barley soup, red bean or green bean soup, but please use rock sugar to cook it. Please drastically reduce your intake of food that are fried, deep-fried, roasted, baked or smoked. Try to consume soup and vegetables in every meal. Very soon, you will discover the increase in your "face" value. When that time arrives, don't forget to thank me for these beauty get-rich tips!

“I Am Ardently In Love With The Girl”
i made a song about two lovers making a pact under a pink frangipani tree for National Gallery Singapore's Light to Night Festival, in response to the histories of Esplanade Park. .
in my research i came upon a 5 june 1952 The Straits Times article, about a pair of lovers, a 21-year-old indian electrician (Maniam) and a 23-year-old chinese girl (Ah Eng), who were tried in court after they tried to commit suicide by jumping into the sea from esplanade park (they were rescued from the sea by a malay seaman). when asked by the magistrate why they did so, Maniam said: "I am ardently in love with the girl, but I know it is a hopeless affair." . 💔 💔 💔 .
fiction fails when history was so cruel. these two lovers did no wrong. i didn't want to write a story or a dialogue, so i wrote lyrics incorporating statements from the court hearing. sixty years on, one hopes things have gotten better for any sort of relationship that falls out of the bounds of societal norms (be it race / class / religion / gender), but the going is always gonna be tougher than it should have to be. if you're in a relationship with someone your parents / peers / workplace / strangers don't accept / acknowledge / approve of, this one's for you <3 <3 <3

What is it like working for giant corporations? What is it like holding corporate executives responsible for their impact on society? Nature N8 sits down with Christine Bader, former head of CSR for Amazon, and before that, a long-term employee at BP.
We discuss how Christine’s experiences in Indonesia, China, and the U.K. led her to revelations about sustainability and work culture, and where we can begin to think about the life we really want. Now, Christine is the co-founder of The Life I Want, a story-telling project reimagining a future of work that works for all.

I was being chased to work. So fled the workplace, to make a tea time. That day was sunny. I bought the tea that had been make to the image of Greece. Rosemary, mint, lemon grass, and green tea has been blended. I got a calm mood. I go back to work in a good mood.
