The Ultimate Purpose of Life

“This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12:13-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The person who wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes is the richest and wisest mortal man in history: King Solomon.

After sharing all his wisdom, his conclusion is this: our whole duty is to fear God (worship Him with reverential awe) and keep His commandments (to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to love one another as Christ loved us).

“Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him. This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” (John‬ ‭17:1-3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

If you have been wondering, this is the purpose for which we were born: to know Abba God and Jesus Christ.

Not just in the mind, but to know God experientially, intuitively, and eventually face-to-face.

There will be a time of judgment in the future, but for a believer, there is no sentence of condemnation because our evil works have already been judged in Jesus’ body at the cross. He endured the fiery wrath of God on our behalf.

All that is left for us is to receive the rewards for both open and hidden good works done for Christ.

If you live your life keeping the Grace commandments—basically a life of leaning on God’s love and sharing that love with others, you will be greatly rewarded when it is time to stand before Jesus’ throne.

Wait, what? We get spared for all the evil deeds that we do and get rewarded for all the good works done by using the grace that God first gave to us? Yes, it sounds way too good to be true, but it is the truth.

Most believers have no idea what God’s rewards are. They know of blessings, but when it comes to rewards, it is hardly taught about. The common misconception is to mix up blessings and rewards—but these two are different.

Blessings were paid for by Jesus’ blood at the cross, and God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Heaven. On the other hand, rewards are still with Jesus in Heaven. He said that His reward is with Him—we will only receive them after He comes again.

““Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.” (Revelation‬ ‭22:12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When Will Jesus Return for us?

““Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near. Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” (Matthew‬ ‭24:32-36‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When Jesus said “no one knows of that day and hour,” a Jewish audience who knows the Old Testament (Torah) will see the connection with the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah).

It is celebrated at the same time as Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year).

The Bible says that on the Feast of Trumpets, the shofar (a cleaned-out ram’s horn) is to be sounded.

The Jews in charge of blowing the shofar would wait until the approximate date of the appearance of the new moon in the month of September, and watch intently, ready to blow the shofar once the first sliver of new moon is seen.

See this quote about Rosh Hashanah from Wikipedia:

“Since the time of the destruction of the Second Temple of Jerusalem in 70 CE and the time of Rabban Yohanan ben Zakkai, normative Jewish law appears to be that Rosh Hashanah is to be celebrated for two days, because of the difficulty of determining the date of the new moon.”

In other words, no one knows the day or hour of the new moon’s appearance—just like the Rapture!

“The best-known ritual of Rosh Hashanah is the blowing of the shofar, a musical instrument made from an animal horn. The shofar is blown at various points during the Rosh Hashanah prayers, with a total of 100 blasts on each day. While the blowing of the shofar is a Biblical statute, it is also a symbolic "wake-up call", stirring Jews to mend their ways and repent. The shofar blasts call out: "Sleepers, wake up from your slumber! Examine your ways and repent and remember your Creator."”

Many Christians are mistaken that the Rapture happens at the last trumpet of the seven trumpets in the Book of Revelation. This would mean that the saints go through the Tribulation and are subject to God’s wrath that will be poured out on this world. However, this is not true.

“in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:52‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

On the Feast of Trumpets, a hundred blasts of the trumpet are sounded. The final blast of the trumpet is the “last trump”. The moment the last trump is founded, we will be transformed. Our mortal bodies will be changed into glorified immortal bodies.

Christians who have already died are called “the dead in Christ” or “asleep”. Bring asleep suggests that it is a temporary state; that they will wake up again.

It is significant that the Jews see the blowing of the shofar on the Feast of Trumpets as a “wake-up call” to awake sleepers from their slumber.

“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Daniel‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The resurrection of the dead will begin with the dead in Christ: all Old Testament and New Testament saints who are saved through faith in Yahweh/Yeshua (Jesus). Their physical bodies which have decayed will be formed back from the dust of the earth, and their spirit will go back into the body. Then, they will be simultaneously transformed with us who are alive and remaining.

Whether or not the Rapture of the saints literally occurs on the Feast of Trumpets or not, we understand that this feast is a picture of the Rapture. If you do not like this term, then you can also call it “the great escape”, “the snatching away”, or “harpazo”.

An archangel will sound many blasts on a heavenly shofar, and at the last blast, we will be changed and be caught up to meet Jesus in the air. It will be a great reunion to see all your loved ones who are asleep at the moment. We will embrace each other amid the clouds, and finally see the Lord face to face.

Are you ready to be receive your new body and to meet the Lord? The return of the Lord is the blessed hope for every Christian, and the signs in this world seem to show that we are in the season of the Rapture.

Once the first sliver of the ‘new moon’ appears, Jesus will stand up and come to receive His bride. Be watchful and excited, for we are not waiting for death, but for our bodily redemption!

All Things are Lawful for Me

“But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead. I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death; for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.” (Romans‬ ‭7:8-11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Sin in the flesh is an opportunist who lies dormant in wait for the chance to rebel against what is good.

The more you tell it to do right, the stronger it will rebel by going on a rampage of wrongdoing.

This is why the strength of sin is the Law.

It is like dealing with a rebellious child who just finds pleasure in doing the opposite of what you tell him to do.

Your “I must not” and “Don’t do this” rules make sin in the flesh really bloodthirsty.

These rules, laws, and commandments have good intention, which is to produce a beneficial result by abstaining from unedifying activities, but it is a counter-effective method for the sinful flesh.

I suddenly understand why the apostle Paul wrote the following shocking statement;

““All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

“What? You mean it is lawful for me to sin as much as I want??”

Yes, it is, and God will never be angry with you or punish you for it because Jesus was already punished for your sins at the cross. This truth befuddles a legalistic person’s mind.

But ironically, when you say that all things are lawful, sin in the flesh remains “dead”, having no opportunity to rise up and go crazy.

People have good intentions of stopping sinful acts by creating laws, rules, and commandments, but they do not know that these only serve to empower sin in the flesh.

Take a moment to say this now: “All things are lawful for me!” When you say this, you will notice that you have no desire to sin, because sin remains dead when there is no law to stir it up.

That is not all that Paul said. He also said that even though all things are lawful to us born-again believers, not all things are expedient (profitable or beneficial).

Without sin in the flesh influencing our thoughts and desires, we can choose the best way to invest our time and focus. The most expedient choice would be to keep our eyes on Jesus and receive God’s word into our hearts.

Instead of choosing to be brought under the power of sin which brings nothing but death, I will choose to be brought under the power of the Holy Spirit to enjoy fullness of joy and peace!

A week had already passed since our last upload. We hope you had a great week~

Since Jo just got a new sketchbook, we thought of doing another “Paint with Us” vlog. Each day is pretty much similar but nevertheless, unique in its own way. Today’s coffee is not yesterday’s coffee. Today’s painting is not yesterday’s painting. Today’s bread is not yesterday’s bread. We got to love the little things in life. Because the littlest things in life is where we find real joy ?

✨Hotteok Recipe✨
for 3-4 person

:: Ingredients ::
180g Water
1 1/2 Tsp Year
1 Tbsp Cooking
250 All-Purpose Flour
1 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
A pinch of Salt

Filling
40g Crushed Nuts
50g Brown Sugar

:: Instructions ::
1. Mix lukewarm water and dry yeast in a bowl. Stir well and add Cooking Oil
2. Add Flour, Sugar and salt into the wet mixture and mix them well.
3. Cover and let rise in room temperature for 1 hour or double the size
4. For Filling, mix Sugar and Nuts in a new boil and set aside
5. After an hour, heat a pan with oil (I’ve tried with less or and more oil and they both taste really good. It really up to your preference ?)
6. Coat your palms with oil and take a piece of the dough. Flatten it and add filling in the centre.
7. Close it up and cook in pan.
8. When one side of the Hotteok turns golden brown, flip it to the other side and press it down.
9. Do the same with the rest of the dough~
10. Enjoy while it’s still hot ?

Sorry this vlog is so backlogged. I've just been taking it easy with thesituation. I hope everybody is keeping safe at home! During this uncertain time, my passion for my hobbies became awakened. I know what a privilege it is to “kill time” while there are so many out there fighting their lives and helping to keep society upstanding. During this time, we can only try to do our part and keep a positive attitude. May we be like a deeply rooted tree. Be patient and know in time, we WILL bloom again.
