This year has been such a milestone for our firstborn. It may be easy to forget since compared to his baby brother, he hasn’t “grown” a lot (physically) this year, but mentally & emotionally, this boy has grown & matured leaps and bounds. And I just wanna celebrate this amazing boy and his milestones this year:
.
1. This year you started your first year of school! You loved school and had no problem transitioning to a brand new routine of waking up early and brushing your teeth every morning, and your super daddy @boon10 had a lot to do with that.
.
2. It was a whole new world of “school work” for our family! Costume-making, art & craft, reading & writing with you as your “homework”, and mama loved every bit of it.
.
3. You had your first school sports day, and your yellow team came in second place! 🥈Mama was super sad that she couldn’t be there due to confinement, but you had lots of fun with your daddy who really cheered you on!
.
4. You levelled up and became an elder brother! You welcomed and loved Baby Didi with open arms and until today, there’s not an ounce of jealousy, but only love, gentleness & “geram” for your brother. We know it hasn’t been easy for you to share us with Lucas, but you’ve been so gracious and we appreciate you for that.
.
5. You have started to be totally okay with haircuts! No more tears and yelling the salon down, and that’s such an achievement. So proud of you!
.
6. You had your first school field trip- to Farm in the City. You loved the rabbits, birds (like this turkey that you were so amused with), and catching fishes in the pond!
.
7. You can read so well it still surprises us and your teachers! We’re still working on the writing & colouring bit but we’re already super proud of you for being willing to learn.
.
8. You had your first school concert & did two dances, nailed every single step and received the Super Reader award tho you were one of the youngest in class. Needless to say we were super proud of you!
.
9. You had your first bday celebration in school! We brought your fav choc cake, PJmasks toys and party packs, and you had fun giving out cakes to your friends & teachers.
.
What a year it’s been. We love you Tyler ♥️

HAZY DAY BOREDOM BUSTERS!! 🌈🙌❤️
1. Make playdough or borax-free slime (recipe and step-by-step highlights on my ig @rachealkwacz).
2. Cornstarch, oats, toilet paper and water, psyllium husk, soapy water and brushes, newspaper, the pantry is your oyster in sensory play ideas!
3. Make a fort and get cosy with some books and cuddle buddies.
4. Have an art attack afternoon and craft together or paint in the shower for an easy clean up.
5. Turn up some tunes and have a dance party! There’s even a playlist on Spotify called Hazed & Confused! 😂❤️
6. What time is it Mr Wolf? Duck duck goose. Simon Says. London Bridge. Ring around the Rosie. Hide & Seek. Candyland. Feed the Woozle. Twister. Or better yet, see what crazy game you and your toddler can come out with and I bet you they will!!!
7. Bake a special treat together, try out a new recipe, make ants on a log or just help mama make dinner!
8. Cosy up together and have a movie date complete w snacks and “fancy” juicetails!
9. Legos, magna tiles, wooden blocks, packaging material, recyclables..build something magical together.
10. Create your own band with musical instruments from the kitchen – wooden spoon karaoke, mixing bowl drums, beans in containers maracas…the possibilities are endless!
11. Expensive but very entertaining. Let your little pick a Lush bath bomb and go to town as they have the bath of their life. Buys you a good 30mins, just remember to stay close and supervise.
12. Clean and bring in your scooter or bicycle and just let them have fun around the house. Amp it up and create an obstacle course!
13. Invite a neighbor or friend over for a DIY pizza party/sundae bar/sandwich crazy or just to play!
14. For older littles or if you have kid-friendly nail polish, have a little mani-pedi mama and teeny tiny spa! 🦄
15. Mostly, it’s just bonus time together connecting but don’t forget that it’s perfectly okay (and healthy!) to take mama breaks for you too. ❤️

CAPTAIN EARTH | Saving the earth one tree at a time 🌿
.
I’ve always loved themed costume parties! So when I found out from Tyler’s teachers that they would be celebrating Earth Day today and everyone is encouraged to come in a costume, I was really excited! Only thing is....I forgot about it a few hours after that until 7.30pm last night when teachers sent a reminder 🤦🏻♀️ Dashed to the nearest Popular and Daiso, grabbed all the relevant Earth Day felt fabric colours and started my last minute project at 12am when the boys were tucked in bed. The craft noob me made soooo many silly mistakes (shared them over at IG Stories!) and could have been a lot more well prepared, but for now this shall do! Two solid hours and a zombie preggers later, here’s my Captain Earth standing tall and strong, ready to save the earth 😍
