光看英文字，你可能會把Chance King翻成「機會國王」。其實也沒有錯，但Chance King是一位DJ，而且更酷的是，這是他本名。從小就在夏威夷長大的他不是在弄音樂就是在衝浪，所以也曾形容自己在音樂裡的目標是把海洋所有不同的面貌分享給聽者。我能找到他做《千面獸》的remix，應該不只是剛好而已吧？坦白說《千面獸》原曲已經有電音元素，我本來還有點擔心改編會不會沒有太大的變化，但音樂一進我就被帶到某一個小島的海灘派對：我看到黑色的天空，狂熱的營火，暖風和鼓聲讓我的身體開始搖擺...
Chance King is a DJ, and yes, that’s his real name. Born and bred in Hawaii, Chance’s goal has always been to translate the energy of the ocean into a musical journey. From what I know of him (looking forward to meeting someday!) he’s either on a surfboard or in the studio, bringing passion and vitality to everything he does. I don’t think it was by chance (pun intended?) that he ended up remixing “Thousand-Faced Beast”, a song about accepting the multitude of possibilities within every being. The ocean is probably the most thousand-faced beast I can think of! It’s been a while since any of us have traveled, but as soon as I press play, I am transported to an island party. I see a dark sky and fiery torches. A warm breeze blows, carrying the sound of drums, and and my body begins to sway…

産まれた日に波の音がした
学校も海沿いを帰った
初恋は砂浜に座って
拳一個分の距離のまま夕陽が沈んだ
やがて地元を出て遠く遠い空の下
「海は繋がっているから」と涙をぬぐった
いつしか海は記憶の遠く遠い片隅に
今日も駆け足で電車へと乗り込んだ
涙が止まらない日は 海にいこうか
消えて無くなりたいならその前に 海に行こうか
道に迷って行き場をなくしたら 海に行こうか
お酒に飲まれた翌朝は 海にいこうか
いつしか都会の波に疲れて
