The red bean filling literally burst out when I air-fried this red bean & banana pastry (三味香酥饼) from @swatowrestaurant and the pastry skin was still a little pale white (vs the color when u deep-fry). But who cares when they are already darn hot and crispy? The combination of banana and red bean is extremely sweet but makes a good dessert or sweet snack when u r craving for one.

Got these in a pack of 6 from the FB @singaporehomecooks live sale but they are still retailing online at 3 for $4.95

⭐️fool VS. full
fool[ful] 是長母音，oo要發長音，嘴唇噘起，呈現嘟嘴狀；full[fʊl]是短母音，u音是短的，類似「ㄨ」音，但嘴巴放鬆。

⭐️snake VS. snack
snake[snek]是長母音，唸起來像e i，i的聲音一定要出來；snack[snæk]是短母音。

⭐️dessert VS. desert
dessert[dɪˋzɝt] 重音位於de之後，母音唸/ɪ/，類似「ㄧ」音；desert[ˋdɛzɚt] 重音在一開始，母音唸/ɛ/，「ㄝ」音。

⭐️aboard VS. abroad
aboard [əˋbɔrd] 登機証叫boarding pass/card；abroad[əˋbrɔd]，字的road有道路的意思

Muah Chee (or 麻糍 in Chinese) is a traditional Hokkien snack. In the past, this simple Chinese snacks can be found almost anywhere in Singapore. If you have tried Japanese mochi before, Muah chee is somewhat similar to it in terms of texture but you can see from the picture above that it looks nothing like Japanese mochi. Instead of being shaped into a real ball like Chinese tangyuan, muah chee is roughly cut up into bite sizes and coated generously with grounded peanuts and some sugar. Although it is not difficult to make muah chee, a good muah chee should be chewy and the proportion of muah chee vs peanuts & sugar should be appropriate. By cooking muah chee with shallot oil, you're also giving it a very nice and soft fragrance in every bite . Try making muah chee at home today. It's really simple.

Ingredients:
Serves 2 - 3 pax

Shallot oil
-----------
0.5 cup of oil
10 pcs of shallots - sliced

Glutinous rice dough
---------
1 cup of glutinous rice flour
200ml of water
1 tablespoon of shallot oil

Other ingredients
---------
Some peanuts - grounded finely
Some sugar - adjust sweetness yourself but muah chee isn't overly sweet.
