I agree with this article, but I'll put it differently. Let's put aside who's involved in organizing and promoting (which has been discussed to death by other blogs and articles). The concern of this article is precisely why we shouldn't have this type of meeting. The medium has shipwrecked the message. Can you honestly talk about the scandal of the cross in such a large setting? To discuss something as difficult as the scandal of the cross, one has to spend a long time building a relationship with a non-christian friend to explain and unpack that meaning ...to be fair, the cross is more relevant to Paul's gospel to both the Jews and gentiles of his time. That too needs a lot of unpacking for relevance today.
