【七個「雄」字】(學術台)
其實也只是一堆隨想。
十歲左右的時候，爸爸跟我們說了個故事：
說澳門賭王何先生，願意出一百萬，給可以一次過寫出「七個「雄」字同音字」的挑戰者。
那時候一百萬是什麼概念呢？當年屯門碼頭一個單位，也只賣十六萬元。
記得當年，我好像也有查過字典。
時間過去，今天再玩這遊戲，網上一找，一秒不用，在中大粵語網，已經可以找到18個「雄」 的同音字，足夠我爸爸拿完一百萬，我再去拿那一百萬，而且還有四個剩下來。
科技世界令我們這二，三十年走得很快，知識交流速度很高。相較以前，天地之別。
可能大家不知道，人類學習「輓馬法」，即把繩子綁在馬身上的方法，用了3500年。是的，3500年。
最初的輓馬法，就是把繩子套在馬胸，結果馬兒一跑，就勒住喉嚨，其實跑不快。經過數百年，人們才加以改進，在胸、腹各套一條帶，令馬帶不會滑到喉嚨，不過，有學過力學也知道，這樣套住，力向下方，其實發不到力，所以跑一會就會很倦，其實走不遠的，幾公里路已經要換馬。不過，這樣的輓馬法，也使用了2000年，對，2000年，你看電視戰國、三國打仗的馬車威風凜凜，其實只是電影藝術。2000年後，人們才發明胸肩法、護肩法，把輓馬壓力由胸轉到肩，才真的改變輓馬方式，同期，又有人發明馬鐙，終於可以把一兩隻手空出來射箭之類。再數百年，傳到突厥、韓國、歐洲，才有騎兵隊。
古代，馬是生活一部分，但輓馬相關技術，也用了3500多年，才發展到今日這個水平。
有了電力，到現在有了網路，相較之下，發展進步明顯快得極多。
但學術上呢？我們所有的預測、估計、數據結果分析，至今很大程度上，都仍源於統計學regression這個百多年前的概念，我們至今依然沿用這個線性假設，try and error地log幾十次，找出最合適線性關係，是系統上多了SAS、SPSS等系統，但大體框框，根本沒有很大程度地跳出過regression以外，繼續ANOVA。
當然，後來也有其他如Chi square對相關性，或者蒙地卡羅、stochastic calculus那種對隨機結果計算的研究方式，但我們學術主流依然沒有辦法擺脫線性回歸regression這種框架。
可是，我們不會有多3500年再去學習。
隨著時間過去，人類必然被電腦淘汰。
我們人類的學習、進步速度太慢，而且「師傅傳徒弟傳啲唔傳啲留一手」的心態，太阻礙世界進步；而人類惰性又覺得，搵到錢買到樓，還是享受下人生好了，還談什麼進步？
