An Open Letter to the Government of
the United States of America:
Your country prides itself on being established on the basis of universal human rights, and often interferes in other countries’ internal affairs on the pretense of furthering human rights, causing political unrest and instability in the countries you seek to liberate. You forget that when you point with one finger, three fingers point back at you. The murder of George Floyd has revealed that so-called “human rights” in the United States are in fact rights based on class and race: African Americans and Native Americans have never received fair treatment in the United States. As people of color and members of the Global Village, we make the following demands of your country:
One: Please fully respect the human rights of African-Americans.
African Americans account for only 12% of the United States’ population, but they represent 40.3% of deaths from COVID-19, and 45% of the male prison population. It is clear from these statistics that African American’s constitutionally- protected rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have never been fully recognized.
Two: Please compensate Native-Americans for the centuries of persecution they have endured.
When the Mayflower arrived in America in 1620, it was the native people who helped you survive the harsh winter. Your country repaid them by slaughtering their people and plundering their land. You have built a powerful and wealthy country on the blood and tears of Native Americans, and it is time to offer the survivors some modest form of compensation so they will no longer be trapped on reservations overflowing with alcohol, helplessness, and despair.
Three: Please respect the Ryukyuan peoples’ right to life
Following the annexation of Ryukyu in 1879, the Ryukyu Islands became a springboard for Japanese aggression, which ultimately led to the 1945 Battle of Okinawa, in which the United States and Japanese armies slaughtered a quarter of the Ryukyuan population. Today, your country has set up a military base on the Ryukyuan Islands as a deterrent to China. In the event of a war between China and the United States, who knows how many Ryukyuan people will perish at the hands of soldiers and in the flames of missiles. We ask: do you not value the human rights of the Ryukyuan people?
We look forward to a positive response to our demands, and await the release of the brave volunteers who gave up their freedom to fight for the rights of the oppressed people of your country, rights upon which you claim the country is founded!
Sincerely,
The Chinese Unification Promotion Party, 2020/06/12

A sad day for our nation...
My baby is probably too young to understand now but one day, I shall tell him the history of our great man who truly dedicated his life in exchange for transforming a fishing village into a successful Singapore; a country often only recognized as a tiny little red dot on the map, but has its undeniable capabilities in achieving many Firsts on the world stage.
Thank you Sir, you've given us the greatest home anyone could ever asked for. May your soul rest in peace now...
