【卧遊 美術館】
烏菲茲美術館位於意大利佛羅倫斯，是全世界最古老的知名美術館之一，而今天要介紹的這幅畫，畫的正是聚集最珍貴的藝術品的展示館──Tribuna room（講壇）。
美術館由佛羅倫斯公爵科西莫一世（Cosimo I de' Medici）創建，落成於16世紀末。之後館藏不停擴充，到了18世紀，已是僅次於梵蒂岡美景宮的古代藝術館。當時的貴族、文人學者、藝術家，無不憧憬到烏菲茲美術館見識一番，這其中也包括畫家Johann Zoffany。
1772年Zoffany帶着英國夏洛蒂王后的委託，如願來到佛羅倫斯。由於夏洛蒂王后從未到過海外，於是，她請Zoffany為她畫下藝術館講壇中展出的著名藝術品和畫作，帶回英國給她欣賞。
Zoffany每天花大量時間坐在講壇作畫，最終畫成了上面展示的《烏菲茲的講壇》，畫中有很多名畫和藝術品，琳琅滿目，例如《烏爾比諾的維納斯》（Venus of Urbino）、《四位哲學家》（The Four Philosophers）、《良十世像》（Portrait of Pope Leo X with two Cardinals）等等。不過，其實畫中所見的並不是全都是講壇展品，其中也有根據Zoffany的要求而移到講壇的藏品，包括來自帕拉提納美術館的7幅畫作。
1779年Zoffany帶着《烏菲茲的講壇》回到英國，畫作大受好評，不單成為他本人的代表作，同時使烏菲茲美術館的名聲更上一層樓，從此更受歡迎。
