這個夏天開始，AIT台北辦事處即將迎來新任處長： #孫曉雅 (Sandra Oudkirk)
孫候任處長一直是 #台灣的長期友人。2019年曾來台灣召開首屆台美 #太平洋對話 並在 #玉山論壇 做專題演講；2020年她與外交部共同主持 #太平洋防疫援助線上對話；今年則出席 #台美在太平洋島國夥伴關係 線上公開座談會。
曉雅一直都在，未來更會與我們並肩同行。
孫候任處長是資深外交官，1990年曾派駐台灣，目前是國務院亞太局主管澳紐暨太平洋事務副助卿兼亞太經濟合作 (APEC)資深官員，對 #鞏固太平洋邦交 及 #參與APEC 等議題與我們互動密切。
在台美友好的堅實基礎上，外交部竭誠歡迎並期待孫候任處長持續與台灣密切合作。
MOFA welcomes the appointment of Ms. Sandra Oudkirk as AIT Director. She is no stranger to #Taiwan, having previously been posted in #Taipei and having co-hosted the Pacific Island Dialogue here in October 2019, as well as speaking at the 2020 Yushan Forum.
With a career spanning 30 years in the #US Foreign Service, Director Oudkirk has been serving as the US Senior Official for APEC at the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs and as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands since May 2019.
As a long-standing friend to Taiwan and with a profound understanding of the issues undergirding the Taiwan-US relationship, we hope her term as director will bring about further fruitful cooperation built on the foundation laid by her predecessor Director Brent Christensen.
