1. 後生仔應該唔知咩係LTCM，早早叫你睇多啲書（呢本非常好睇），

2. 1998年嘅秋分，就係LTCM，Long term capital management 爆煲之日。本書點解叫When Genius Failed？因為LTCM嘅發起人，Scholes同Merton，正係Genius（另外有個伊朗仔），勁過Genius Bar嘅Genius

3. 有幾Genius？你做金融嘅，如果唔識佢兩個，得罪講句，真係好打有限。Scholes正係Black Scholes model 嗰個Scholes（唔係曼聯嗰個，OK？），期權定價option pricing，CFA Level I都讀。咁Merton乜水？其實係叫 Black–Scholes–Merton model。

4. 有幾Genius？冇，佢兩個拎咗1997年諾貝爾獎之嘛，「冇乜特別」（＊）．攞獎係因為樓上講嘅嘢，Derivative pricing，有冇話你知我Master讀呢啲？「我本書有講」（＊＊）

5. 你見到嘅係，連諾貝爾獎得主都唔會time the market，都唔會覺得自己識好多嘢。甚至最後都係預測唔到市場嘅凶險。普通人何德何能？

6. 順帶一提，當年幫LTCM封棺材嘅最後一根稻草，係俄羅斯國債違約。

7. 當其時嘅市場常識係：nuclear powers do not default。的確，從來冇核武國國債違約，帝俄年代有，蘇聯年代都有，「但嗰時未有核武」。

8. 吹啤脹嘅係，俄羅斯嗰次違約，唔係美金債，係本幣（盧布）嘅債。你諗真啲，係完全違反常識的。國家有印鈔機（阿富汗就冇），盧布印幾多都有，點會違約？但，蘇維埃巨熊就係做啲你估唔到嘅嘢。

9. 認真的，當時都有研究，到底你如何可以將呢啲政治事件，列入你嘅quantitative model？答案係：好難。

10. 但冇話唔可以做，你留個大啲嘅margin of safety咪得，正如騰訊跌一半都大把人買。偏偏LTCM就係唔留margin of safety嘅。幾時都話，槓杆害人。不過人地冇所謂，OPM，其他人嘅錢。

11. 我可能週末Patreon講（但月尾冇乜新讀者訂，可能留返10月1先）

（＊）順帶講埋，既然係Black–Scholes–Merton model，有時甚至叫做Black–Scholes，Black先生同Merton應該至少平起平坐（if not more），咁Black先生去咗邊？點解冇份攞諾貝爾獎？答案好簡單，我唔使查維基都知（因為我寫過幾次，但第一次都唔使查），因為佢死咗。諾貝爾獎只頒畀在生嘅人，所以日日跑長跑嘅村上春樹再等下先，佢老哥等得，仲有一大班吊鹽水嘅等緊。

（＊＊）後來點解冇做quant 冇變火箭數學家？好簡單，我有自知之明。無數咁多大陸仔印度仔勁過我啦。
