I don't know bout u guys, but something abt these japanese old buildings really fascinate me. They 're a pain to paint but somehow also fun at the same time.
All the watercolour paintings I've done so far are not my original idea btw. Still learning thru immitation. Usually frm google images or youtube tutorials. This one in particular is by an artist I found on youtube called Mateusz Urbanowicz. 🎨🎨🎨
Have always loved these style of storefront watercolour paintings. Found this painting by Mateusz Urbanowicz on google. And decided to try it out and practice my painting skills~ He does background painting on animes. The most well known one would be "Your Name"! I'm still at the copy and paint stage in my watercolour journey so a lot of my paintings are just an immitation of the reference photos I find on google or youtube~

I tried to redo this watercolor painting of a cute store we saw with Kana in Karuizawa last fall. We went there for some Ghibli inspired location hunting and I took many photos of interesting retro buildings.
