The lions have guarded the entrance of HSBC headquarters in Central since 1935. ⁣

During the Second World War, the two lions were sent to Japan to be melted down, but were saved at the sudden end of war. An American sailor recognised the lions in a dockyard in Osaka in 1945 and the lions were rescued and restored to their original positions in October 1946. During the protest on New Year’s Day in 2020, the lions were sprayed with red paint and set on fire. They were removed from public view for restoration since then for the third time in their history. ⁣

The lions are back on public view after first phase of restoration works. Welcome back. Many visit the lions today, taking photos and touching his head and paws.⁣
⁣
Full restoration can be done only when British experts can fly to Hong Kong.⁣

Ah; the good ol', regular Splattershot. It's a jack of all trades, and master of none. I remember when I first started playing Splatoon, and thinking a Bomb Rush of Burst Bombs was so fun, formidable, and intimidating.

I decided to go for a hip-hoppy recording-artist look like Studio Headphones, Green Zip Hoodie, and Shark Moccasins.

I don't like Port Mackerel's chokepointy nature; it's fun when one is winning, but not when one is not. I tried to flank without despairing or suiciding too much.

Although Museum d'Alfonsino is more open, it's hard to flank against a dominating team if they are playing defensively. Still, it's still one of my favorite maps because of the rotating, multi-level platforms.

I played one round on Saltspray Rig after a map-change.

The Splattershot was a comfortable loadout. Although its range and damage left something to be desired; its weak Sub and Special weapons didn't offer much added range or utility, it's well-rounded, allows for good mobility, and can go for a long time without having to recharge ink.

Ingredients (8 servings)
For the broth:
1-3kg beef marrow/knuckle bones = 2-6 lb, the more the merrier ^^
500g beef (1 lb, outside flank, brisket or cross rib roast)
1 onion
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
For the PHO aroma:
2 piece ginger (size of your thumb), sliced
3 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
2-3 black cardamoms
1 medium onion ( or 3 shallots)
Optional: 1 tsp cloves, 1 tsp coriander seeds (or 3 coriander roots)
For the bowls:
1kg dried flat rice noodle "banh pho" (2lb dried or 4lb fresh noodle)
300g fresh beef (eye of round/ fillet mignon), finely sliced
Garnishes
1 medium yellow onion, sliced paper-thin, left to soak for 30 minutes in a bowl of cold water
4 spring onion, white part separated, green part chopped.
Asian/Thai basil (hung que), Sawtooth herbs (ngo gai)
Lime wedges, blanched bean sprouts, hoisin sauce, siracha etc.
