Du học sinh nghèo

Ở Việt Nam nhà mình cứ nghe chữ “du học sinh” thì cứ hay hình dung ra các bạn “rich kid” gia đình nhiều tiền cho qua Tây học, ở nhà lầu đi lại xe hơi chẳng bao giờ phải đụng việc tay chân chỉ cần đi học đủ, thẻ tín dụng sẵn tiền quẹt mua sắm, ăn nhà hàng 5 sao rồi tốt nghiệp thì cứ thế mà đi làm chức lớn đi lên thôi.
Nhưng mọi người lại không biết là du học sinh thì cũng có nhiều kiểu, nhiều điều kiện sống khác nhau, còn mình thì xưa đi du học thì tự đánh giá bản thân là “du học sinh nghèo”, vì:

1. Như gia đình các chị em họ hàng hay bạn bè mình quen biết thời đấy đi du học đều theo dạng học bổng toàn phần (hoặc như mình được học bổng 80%). Tức là khi học ở Việt Nam điểm số cũng toàn loại cao, tuy nhiên thời xưa đi học xin học bổng dễ hơn ngày nay vì nhu cầu đi du học cũng cao hơn, các gia đình cũng nhiều điều kiện về tiền bạc để đầu tư con cái du học hơn. Mình nhớ như xưa mình đi học, gia đình cũng phải vay nợ tiền để chứng minh tài chính cho xin visa đi học ấy.

2. Du học thì học phí trả thấp hơn so với mức sinh viên quốc tế thường phải trả, hoặc như có những người bạn mình là không cần trả học phí. Tuy nhiên về ăn ở, chi phí đi lại cá nhân thì bắt buộc phải đi làm thêm hết! Đứa tiếng Anh không lưu loát thì kiếm việc ở các quán ăn Việt Nam phục vụ bàn, còn không thì làm ở các chuỗi bán đồ ăn thức ăn nhanh, như mình là đỡ vất vả hơn thì bán mỹ phẩm nước hoa ở các trung tâm thương mại để chi trả cho sinh hoạt mỗi tháng bao gồm: tiền nhà, tiền tàu xe, tiền ăn uống, mua sắm ăn chơi cá nhân. Mỗi tuần mình đi làm 3-4 ngày, mỗi ngày kiếm được 50 bảng cho 8 tiếng và như thế mỗi tháng thì kiếm được làm thêm từ 600-800 bảng, nghĩ ra tiền Việt thì nhiều chứ sinh sống ở London mà bao đủ mọi thứ thì phải cực kỳ chi li!

3. Ở nhà ở tiết kiệm nhất có thể. Vì như các bạn có điều kiện thường kiếm chỗ ở gần trung tâm, khu ở an toàn gần tàu xe đi lại chỉ cần đi bộ 5-10’ là tới tàu, bến bus. Chứ như thời mình ở là ở tít cuối Zone 3 đầu Zone 4, khu đó cũng không được an toàn lắm, đi bộ ra ga tàu cỡ 20’ đi bộ và ngồi tàu gần 1 tiếng mới tới trung tâm đặc biệt lúc cao điểm đợi tàu chen chúc còn lâu hơn, mỗi ngày ra ngoài thì cứ mất cỡ 2 tiếng đi lại là chuyện bình thường! Nhà ở thì thời điểm đó là 800 bảng/tháng (25 triệu VND), chia cho 4-5 đứa ở cùng mỗi đứa 200 bảng (chưa kể phí nước điện gas). Thực ra như vậy là “ở chui” vì nhà đó chỉ được ở 2 người, họ thiết kế nhà 4 phòng: 1 phòng ngủ, 1 phòng ngủ nhỏ, 1 phòng ăn, 1 phòng khách thì cứ mỗi đứa tự mua 1 cái đệm, 1 cái bàn cái ghế tủ quần áo để sinh hoạt trong căn phòng riêng. Còn bếp thì thi thoảng tụ tập ăn tối với nhau.

4. Ăn uống, mua sắm với giá “ưu đãi”. Vì ở chung với nhau nên đi chợ chung luôn để chi phí được thấp hơn, đặc biệt là mình và mấy người bạn cùng nhà toàn chọn nửa đêm đi chợ để … săn giá tốt với các thứ được giảm giá cuối ngày. Ngoài ra đi ăn ngoài tiệm thì cũng … săn voucher để được giảm giá nếu muốn tự thưởng bản thân vào cuối tuần. Còn nếu muốn mua quần áo giày dép thì cứ đợi tới đợt sale thứ 3 là giảm 90% thì mới đi mua, chứ chả bao giờ mua hàng mới, giá đầu cả!

Nhưng giờ nghĩ lại, mình thấy cuộc sống “du học sinh nghèo” ấy dậy được cho mình quá nhiều thứ, có thể là trưởng thành sớm hơn những bè bạn cùng trang lứa khi vẫn được gia đình đùm bọc chu cấp cho tới khi tốt nghiệp khi biết:

- Học làm việc nhà: nấu ăn ngon hay dở thì phải chịu vì không thì chết đói! Mà làm nhiều quen tay thì ắt sẽ ngon! Tự giặt phơi quần áo, tự hút bụi lau nhà cọ xí dọn cỏ đổ rác … nói chung là DIY! 💪🏻

- Học kỹ năng sinh tồn: đi làm, kiếm sống, va chạm với sếp, đồng nghiệp, khách hàng; tiết kiệm, tuyệt đối không dùng thẻ ghi nợ mà có bao nhiêu xài bấy nhiêu. Thậm chí thời đó thấy hàng xóm vứt cái đệm còn rủ nhau ra khiêng về … nằm thay cái cũ, bà chị mình cứ gào lên “lỡ ai chết trên đó thì sao?” - thì … kệ chứ sao 😆

- Học cách vui từ những gì … miễn phí: chẳng cần phải bỏ tiền mới có thể vui! Như thời ấy bọn mình sinh nhật cứ qua nhà nhau, tự làm bánh rồi thổi nến hay ra công viên chơi ủn đẩy, giờ nhìn lại ảnh thấy hạnh phúc thế! 😍

- Học tôn trọng những người khác: vì sống cùng trong một nhà với những người lạ, hay bạn bè, sẽ luôn gặp những vấn đề: ai ăn đồ của tôi? Ai chưa giật nước bồn cầu? Ai không khoá cửa? … cãi nhau ủm tỏi xong lại làm hoà. Vì khi ở chung ai cũng có quyền ngang nhau, chẳng phải gia đình mà oẻ hoẹ hơn thiệt gì hết 🤓

At Tobu Zoo (who also used to collaborate with the famous anime JAPARI PARK!) you can feed the elephants (JPY500) white Tiger (JPY500) and alpacas (JPY300) like me and Anna (@_kirakiratsu_ on INSTAGRAM 💖) did! They're not included in the ticket but you can get closer to fthe floofiness from just JPY300 to JPY500 - I've never fed any wild animals except sheep on a farm as a kid, and boy I can tell you, it always stays a precious experience! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

Me and Anna departed from Sky Tree Station (look at the "P.S:" below for those wo want to know more!) in Asakusa, which is part of the Tobu Railway system!
All we had to do is ask for the special discount Tobu Railway, Bus & Zoo tickets and got two railway round trip tickets to Tobu Dobutsu-Koen Station including the bus to and from Tobu Zoo,
with tickets to the whole park on a discount! This works at any Tobu Railway Station (୨୧ᵕ̤ᴗᵕ̤)

P.S: Never heard of Sky Tree? It's the biggest tower in the world, and during the Holiday Season also turns into the biggest Christmas Tree that ever existed!
