超過 150 位音樂人連署敦促英國政府修法保障音樂人權益

包括 Paul McCartney、Kate Bush、Robert Plant、Damon Albarn、Noel Gallagher 在內，超過 150 位知名音樂人共同簽署一份聲明，希望英國能夠修正「版權、設計與專利法」，過去這份法條保障了音樂人在廣播上的收益，能夠與廠牌平分收益，參與樂手也能從中得到收入，然而法條卻無法保障音樂創作者在串流平台上的收入，根據官方數據音樂人只能分得串流收益的 15% 左右，樂手則幾乎無法從串流平台上得到任何收入，這些錢全都進了廠牌的口袋，認為法條無法給予音樂人足夠的保障，也跟不上科技的發展，希望英國政府能夠做出修正保障創作者的權益，讓英國成為世界上最適合音樂人、創作者的國家。

《No Country For Old Man 險路勿近》好萊塢名製片 Scott Rudin 的醜聞持續擴大。一名已故助理的哥哥在上個週日貼出一則兩分鐘的影片，指控 Scott Rudin 將自己的弟弟凌虐到不成人形，近乎精神崩潰。在《險路勿近》拍攝期間擔任 Rudin 助理的不到一年期間，這名年輕人每天早出晚歸，而且即便下班都處在神經緊繃的狀態下，隨時準備接老闆的電話。當時 Rudin 最惡劣的事跡是因為發現手機上的行事曆因故未能同步，氣憤地將助理踢下行駛中的座車。助理稍後被 Rudin 發現正在找新工作時，隨即被 Rudin 轟出辦公室，並宣佈他將成為這家公司永遠的敵人。接受 Variety 訪問的助理友人表示 Scott Rudin 已經對這名年輕人的精神狀態造成永久傷害。

包含Paul McCartney、Kate Bush 和 Stevie Nicks 等音樂人在內的英國 Musicians Union 音樂家聯盟發表公開信呼籲英國文化部儘速推動修法以因應科技的變化。他們在信中強調串流已經促使音樂產業劇烈重組，音樂創作者已經遠不如電台時代那樣可以從作品的播放中得到足夠收入。而1988年的英國著作權法其實只需要更動兩個字眼，整個過程甚至花不到納稅人一毛錢就可以使創作者活得更好。創作者主張串流應該像電台那樣支付給創作者足夠的版稅。此外他們同時也把矛頭指向唱片公司，批評唱片公司現在完全淪為單純的行銷公司，幾乎沒花一毛錢在製造和發行上頭，所以根本不應該從創作者手上拿走那麼高比例的串流版稅。

華爾街日報認為 Netflix 接下來將會面臨一波觀眾考慮退訂該服務的壓力。隨眾疫苗接種速度加快，各地的電影院和餐廳陸續解封，接下來觀眾待在家裡看串流節目的時間肯定將會停止過去一年高速成長的趨勢。專家預測今年觀眾收看串流時間只會比去年成長3%，比起去年的（和前年相比）激增20%將是一次緊急煞車。而且一年之內串流市場已經變得超級擁擠，逐漸恢復正常生活的觀眾將會開始決定哪些服務已經是不再需要的額外花費。許多 Netflix 的對手採取低價競爭的策略希望不要成為被優先退訂的服務，而近來連續漲價的 Netflix 唯一的防禦方式則是盡可能供給更多獨家節目（比如最近簽下的 Sony 發行權）來纏住訂戶。
