You, do u believe in a mind-set towards attitude has an impact towards everything?
Squash’s serving is very important for a beginner; especially for a starter, should focus on serving and receiving a ball...
For the first ball, do u think of serving it first casually and then see how it goes afterwards? Or, try to serve your best to a corner with a tough angle for competitor to receive? Forcing competitor to provide you a better opportunity to react?
The act of first ball will see your mentality towards your competitor/game

Besides working hard, need to know how to maximize all attainable resources. During competition, need to think thoroughly as to what are advantageous points to you. Which areas to focus could assist you in maximize deployment...of course under sportsmanship’s
Some PSA players using this strategy by keep mumbling to referees...
For example...a player would say “he is tired...he could not run to the ball so he would just run to me...”
This strategy is to:
1. Encourage and motivate himself;
2. Make his competitor believing he is really tired...
This act and/or strategy is to imprint and change your competitor’s mentality/mindset/thinking...
21 year old Egyptian player Youssef Ibrahim won over Shorbagy whom is ranked number 2 in the world. Youseff Ibrahim enter into Top 8.
You have lots of potential. Keep working hard, you could become world number 1。
The above statement was said to Youssef by Shorbagy. This statement will always be remembered deeply by Youseff.

Mindset
With my teaching to students, I emphasize the importance of this mentality and mindset, mindset is like a seed planted in the ground, in short term period of time, you could not noticed its impact. But, as the time progresses, the right mindset being planted will have a profound impact on outcome!
When you could clearly observe what has being doing right, or what has not being doing enough, you would then understand how to face obstacles with right approaches and methods. You could then understand your competitors’ thinking and how to react to his strategy.

The same philosophy applies to outside of court.
There was a professor in a sports focused college once said to me:
I have seen enough of students that don’t last too long in playing squash..
In looking back, could it be that professor was having a passive attitude that caused his students in thinking passively?
I firmly believe that a coach’s mindset has a profound impact to his students...

Wishing all AJ Squash students think and imprint with positive mindset as well has ability to think independently
Imprint and conceive deeply arise from each feeling resulting from a focus target
Think independently is critical in figuring out what is once’s own goal. Pairing with someone that has similar desire and goal setting...If you can not find that person, stride along....
Mindset
When mindset is steering into different direction, you have already venture into a different environment and world
Have you AJ today?
