Anyhoo...in light of the Kaamatan & Harvest Festival celebrations coming soon (Harvest Festival is a celebration to thank a bountiful harvest of rice) - I've themed our D'Varomas Live Cooking Show "Borneon with a Twist".
So what was cooked today?
1. Refreshing Lemonade with Asam Boi by Rifqi
2. Quick Steamed Mantou Buns by Suzie Alias
3. Lazy Mom's Tuna Sushi Balls by Aisyah Wahab and
4. Soup Ayam Lihing by Daphne Iking
I'd like to thank my Sales Advisors Mas Era and her 14 year old son Rifqi, Suzie and Aisyah for being my co-presenters of our #DVaromas Weekly LIVE show, as well as my wonder leaders in D'Varomas for sharing and commenting over the LIVE earlier.
Why the following menu?
1. Lemonade is our a well-known favourite beverage of most Thermomix users. Plus it demonstrates the TURBO power of the TMX where we can grind the rock sugar to powdery goodness in just 2 seconds! Add 2 cut lemons (with peel intact) with cold water, TURBO another 2 seconds and voila! It's done! Popped an asam boi cause we Sabahans love our Kit Cai Ping (kasturi drink with asam boi) so this is the twist in our much loved beverage.
2. Sabah is known for it's seafood. Dip your mantou buns (Steam or fried) with your Kam Heong Prawns or Chili Butter Crab ... delish!
3. Aisyah shows us how EASY and healthier and CLEANER it is to cook rice using the "simmering basket method". No grain of rice is wasted and her easy to make sushi rolls are definitely going to be a hit amongst my kiddos!
and finally
4. Sup Ayam Lihing (Chicken Rice Wine) is a popular soup of the Kadazandusun community. Usually I would use Ayam Kampung, but I only had chicken breasts so I had to make the broth in advance. Add a bit of lihing or rice wine and hmmmmm. Heaven!
Hope you enjoy the show! Let us know in the comment box what recipes would you like on our next DVA show!
Love and Light ... Come and join the DVAs ... we shine so Bright! =P

Your shadow of debt (English version below)
----------------------
For those of you who's born in the 70s and 80s, I am sure you would find the title of this article close to your heart. There was a local female singer from that era who rose to fame with the Chinese song 「牽引」, but this article is not about that song. Rather, the topic of this article “欠影” is similar sounding to the song. So please don't be confused.
For more than 10 years, I have been using the Dharma and Chinese Metaphysics to benefit sentient beings. My wisdom has been greatly enhanced through the Dharma, enabling me to have a discerning eye and not be distracted by worldly delusions from my lifelong relentless pursuit of the Supreme Wisdom. Only with this Wisdom can we break through all aversions and endless sufferings in the six realms of existence, and achieve eternal joy and bliss.
A young married woman got to know me from the Internet and engaged my service to pen a name for her newborn. Geomancy audit of her house followed next, and lastly the name change of her husband, their second daughter and herself. Their house presented many Feng Shui problems but as the Chinese proverb goes, "One wouldn't risk going up the mountains without courage." I resolved them all but there was one matter which I had repeatedly reminded them to do yet till today, no action was taken. This resulted in the decline of their health, wealth, academic results and careers. It would also affect their psychological health greatly. This are huge losses indeed!
I could have just walked away with my remuneration, but I observe my precepts from my dharma practice and did not allow monetary gain to motivate me. Upon reading her bazi (birth chart), I realised her karmic debtors were hindering her. No wonder she refused to change her ways despite my reminders!
Karmic debtors are not just unique to this client of mine. In fact, every one of us has karmic debtors. For less serious cases, your karmic debtors will cause you to lose your wealth, emotional well-being etc. For the serious ones, it becomes a matter of life and death! Perhaps some of you might say, "There is no need to be afraid! I will fight them all!"
Here's a sincere advice from Master Dai Hu: there is no way to fight them all. Even if it seems that you have warded them off, that is only for this lifetime. They will be waiting for you in your next and future lifetimes to pester you persistently. Where is the meaning in this? Moreover, it is better to resolve enmity than to keep it alive. A female singer in the 80s by the name of Qian Bai Hui once sang a song titled Infatuated Entanglement. How true the lyrics are! Why the need for non-stop pestering?
I wrote this article to remind everyone not to take your karmic debtors lightly. The law of karma, be it good or bad, will catch up with you one day. You are going to have a tough time this life if you encounter your karmic debtors. Do your repentance quickly! Accumulate your merits swiftly! Dedicate all merits to your karmic debtors. I wish everyone to quickly dump your shadows of debt. Hahaha!

Pink - Try
Pink
Hope u like it !!

English cover of "Eine Kleine" by Japanese singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu. The title means "A little..." in German. I think the title was taken from Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusic" ("A Little Serenade").
The lyrics were a bit cryptic in places, so hopefully I got the right idea :D The theme seems to be a girl* with low self confidence who finds someone to love, but is constantly worried that it won't last.
*Although the original artist is a male, he sings from a female's
perspective.

~♪~♪~♪~♪~♪~
The day that you and I first met
Brought happiness I won’t forget
But all along I’ve had a sorrow inside
I’ve learned to take for granted
These feelings of contentment are so strong I’m filled with pain
They lay seeds of an imminent goodbye surely coming any day
And if my living means I take away
Someone else’s only special place
Then I would rather be the gravel upon the ground
And walked on any day
‘Cause then there would be no misunderstandings and no doubt
No, you wouldn’t know we well enough to pick me out of the crowd
How I wish you had a clue of everything I feel for you
How my heart is flying
But I have a secret I can’t tell anyone alive
So I always end up lying
If you only knew the truth that’s deep inside of me
You’d know I’m more cowardly than you could ever see
So why, oh why, oh why…
Even through the pain lingering and rips in the seams
When you are here beside me
I can smile and laugh them away, and say it’s okay
Oh, what a gift you gave me
It’s like everything in my view is fading but you
‘Til you are all that I see
You gave me that miracle and left me wanting more
You called out my name and nothing’s like it was before
Well if it meant you wouldn’t pay the cost
Wouldn't lose your place and wander lost
Then I would gladly sacrifice someone else
Instead of you without a thought
And time and time again, we’re bound to smile as we pretend
We’re blind to the future, living a lie so small but certain
It doesn’t matter how I pray, or how I vow
Every night I’m haunted by the same dream
Where a little twist will come, swallow you and leave me numb
Taking you so far away from me
If you only knew the truth that’s deep inside of me
You’d know that I’m more spineless than you could ever see
So why, oh why, oh why…
Darling, please, tell me we can stay forever this way
Two hands entwined with our love
As we cross uncrossable nights, into the daylight
Where you will go, I’ll follow
And I wonder how I can shine into your closed eyes
All colors of the rainbow
I don’t know if I will be enough for you to stay
But, darling, I hope you don’t mind if I call your name
From the moment I was born, I never felt that I belonged
Screaming, "Let me disappear!" - ‘cause everything felt so wrong
Ever since then I’d been searching for somewhere all along
I could someday be free, and I found you finally
kienai kanashimi mo hokorobi mo anata to ireba
sore de yokatta ne to waraeru no ga donna ni ureshii ka
me no mae no subete ga boyakete wa tokete yuku you na
kiseki de afurete tarinai ya

This is an English cover of "Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana" (The Only Flower in the World), a well-known song performed by Japanese boy band SMAP (founded in 1988 and disbanded just last year in 2016), with lyrics by singer-songwriter Noriyuki Makihara.
While I usually create my own translations, there was already a fantastic English version of this song by Hiromi De Young (YouTube linked below in the credits), and a great translation of the chorus by Nelson Babin-Coy (channel also linked). I used my favorite parts of each of these and made a few of my own changes.
I hope this song's message of acceptance and uniqueness reaches a larger audience through my cover.
Enjoy!
*Note: As usual, most of the translation is very close to the original meaning, but the second pre-chorus (the verse starting with "I saw a small flower...") is actually quite different from the original. However, I loved these lyrics so much that I kept them :)
The original meaning of the verse in Japanese is:
I didn't even know his name
But he gave me a smile that day
Just like a flower that was blooming
In a place where nobody would notice it

Enjoy!
I saw a small flower as I walked by
It stretched from the shadows to reach for the sky
I thought to myself, what if I was that way
Reaching for my own dream and saying...

(No. 1 ni naranakute mo ii)
Only one
(moto-moto tokubetsu na "Only one")
I saw all the flowers lined up on display
The shop full of colors with their scented embrace
We all have a blossom we like more than the rest
But I think, with flowers, they all are the best
No fighting or envy, they never contend
But smile in the sunlight and sway in the wind
They all know their mission, it fills them with pride
Everyone is different yet all are alike
I wonder why people must always compare
And judge one another it seems so unfair
To place color, status, and looks to the test
For how can these show us who’s the best?
Just like these flowers
In the whole wide world, you are one of a kind
Cherish your uniqueness, no, you don't need to hide it
Each one of us holds our own special seed
So just be true to you, that's all you'll ever need
A man stood beside me and peered with a sigh
He puzzled and pondered but could not decide
With so many flowers and various hues
All were so pretty, which one should he choose?
Suddenly, a big smile broke out on his face
Flowers in all different colors and shapes
He gathered up a bouquet with one of each kind
Hugging them softly with joy in his mind
I saw a small flower as I walked by
It stretched from the shadows to reach for the sky
I thought to myself, what if I was that way
Reaching for my own dream and saying...
(sou sa bokura mo sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana)
(hitori hitori chigau tane wo motsu)
(sono hana wo sakaseru koto dake ni)
(isshou-kenmei ni nareba ii)
Small flowers, big flowers, all kinds of flowers
You will never find one that’s just like any other
So you don’t need to struggle to be number one
Just be yourself because there’s only one
La la la la...
