A LOVE LETTER TO MONEY

To heal myself from the money wounds, I decided to write a love letter to it.

I remember one morning when I was on the plane flying from Vietnam to Singapore. I pulled out my pen and notebook to write a Love Letter to Money.

“Dear money.

Thank you so much for having been there for me all along.

It is because of you that I can take this flight. Because of you, I could buy vegetable soup and fried rice. Because of you, I have these clothes to keep my body warm and make me feel beautiful.

I’m sorry for having avoided you, run away from you, and treated you without care. Please forgive me...”

It was a long letter. I cannot recall it fully now. But I remember crying writing it, next to confused passengers who must have thought I was writing a Please-Come-Back-to-Me letter to an ex-boyfriend or something.

Without that, I wouldn’t have been able to build my current business, making the impact I believe in, and having the lifestyle that I love.

[RESEARCH SERIES] CẤU TRÚC VÀ MỘT SỐ LƯU Ý KHI VIẾT PHẦN TÀI LIỆU THAM KHẢO (References)

Việc trình bày phần Tài liệu tham khảo đầy đủ và đúng định dạng là yêu cầu bắt buộc mà các tác giả phải nắm vững. Tiếp nối series này, chị xin phép tiếp tục chia sẻ bài viết kinh nghiệm của TS Nguyễn Hữu Cương về "Cấu trúc và một số lưu ý khi viết phần Tài liệu tham khảo (References)". Tùy từng tạp chí khoa học khác nhau sẽ có các yêu cầu khác nhau cho phần tài liệu tham khảo này.

FYI thêm với mọi người hiện tại EndNote, Mendely và Zotero là 03 phần mềm được sử dụng rộng rãi nhất, (trong đó Mendeley và Zotero cho phép người dùng đăng ký và sử dụng miễn phí). Schofan muốn đọc chi tiết hơn về 03 phần mềm nay hay review, hướng dẫn sử dụng, cài đặt phần mềm này thì comment bên dưới cho chị biết với nhé. Tài liệu tham khảo (References) là thành tố quan trọng của một bài báo khoa học. Đây là phần bắt buộc và nằm ở vị trí cuối cùng của bài báo (trừ trường hợp một số bài có thêm phần Phụ lục). Một nguyên tắc bất di bất dịch là bất cứ tài liệu nào được trích dẫn trong nội dung bài báo (từ phần Đặt vấn đề đến phần Kết luận) thì đều phải đưa vào Tài liệu tham khảo. Nói cách khác, bất kỳ tài liệu nào xuất hiện trong Tài liệu tham khảo thì phải được sử dụng trong bài viết (Gastel & Day, 2016).

Như vậy, Tài liệu tham khảo cung cấp thông tin cho độc giả những nguồn tài liệu mà tác giả đã trích dẫn trong bài viết. Phần Tài liệu tham khảo còn giúp bạn tránh được việc đạo văn. Một vấn đề thuộc phạm trù đạo đức nghiên cứu mà tất cả các tác giả cần nắm vững là luôn phải trích dẫn các nguồn tài liệu bạn sử dụng trong bài viết của mình, kể cả các bài viết của bạn đã từng công bố trước đây. Việc trích dẫn và đưa vào phần Tài liệu tham khảo là một sự ghi nhận tài sản trí tuệ của người khác (Medina, 2017). Ngoài ra, việc trình bày phần Tài liệu tham khảo đầy đủ và đúng định dạng cũng giúp cho bài báo của bạn có được thiện cảm ban đầu từ tổng biên tập và người bình duyệt.

Mỗi loại tài liệu khác nhau có những yêu cầu về cách thức trình bày trong Tài liệu tham khảo khác nhau, như bài báo khoa học (academic paper), bài báo đại chúng (newspaper article), sách, chương sách, báo cáo, luận án, luận văn… . Tuy nhiên, điểm chung nhất là những tài liệu tham khảo này phải thể hiện được: tác giả/các tác giả, tiêu đề của tài liệu, nguồn của tài liệu, năm xuất bản, đường dẫn (URL đối với những tài liệu xuất bản online), mã định danh tài liệu số DOI (nếu có) (Bouchrika, 2021).

Hiện tại có nhiều cách trích dẫn và trình bày Tài liệu tham khảo khác nhau. Phổ biến nhất là APA 7th - American Psychology Association (https://apastyle.apa.org/) cho lĩnh vực giáo dục, tâm lý học và khoa học xã hội, IEEE (https://ieeeauthorcenter.ieee.org/) cho lĩnh vực kỹ thuật, khoa học máy tính và công nghệ thông tin, MLA 8th - Modern Language Association (https://www.mla.org/) cho lĩnh vực ngôn ngữ học và nhân văn, và Chicago 17th/Turabian 9th (https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/home.html) cho lĩnh vực kinh doanh, lịch sử và nghệ thuật (University of Pittsburgh, n.d.). Để chắc chắn tạp chí bạn dự định gửi bài sử dụng cách trích dẫn nào, bạn cần đọc kỹ phần Hướng dẫn dành cho tác giả (Guide/Instructions for Authors) của tạp chí đó.

Có một số phần mềm hỗ trợ cho việc quản lý tài liệu, trích dẫn và trình bày Tài liệu tham khảo. Hiện tại EndNote (https://endnote.com/), Mendely (https://www.mendeley.com/) và Zotero (https://www.zotero.org/) là ba phần mềm được sử dụng rộng rãi nhất, trong đó Mendeley và Zotero cho phép người dùng đăng ký và sử dụng miễn phí. Nếu bạn đang thực hiện trích dẫn và trình bày Tài liệu tham khảo một cách thủ công thì tôi khuyên bạn nên thử một trong các phần mềm trên.

Hello friends! A highly requested video is finally up! ?

I'm using an HSK vocabulary book, but you can use any resource like a novel, an article, a textbook or even a TV show to find new words. I color code my notes and color code the tones so I can associate a tone with a color.

In one notebook, I list the Chinese characters in black, the pinyin pronunciation in orange, and the Korean or English meaning in black. The circle with a number in it indicates which HSK level the vocab word is for. Example sentences are written in red, and when I need to, I'll rewrite the characters as much as I can until I memorize it.

Then I transfer the words without pinin to a separate notebook and only write the meaning. I then underline the characters with a color according to its tone.

PS: Some of you may notice my vocab is in simplified and one of my example sentences in traditional. I use both!
