🚩 New Media Artist Hsin-Chien Huang Leads "Garden Taipei/Formosa: Taiwan Grand Tour" with 22 Taiwan's VR and New Media Artworks to 2021 Ars Electronica Linz in Austria🇦🇹
2021 ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL Ars Electronica has chosen “A New Digital Deal” as its annual theme, centering around the social and cultural transformations under the influence of technology from different countries. Also, it pays attention to changes of “the New Normal” due to the pandemic.
Hsin-Chien Huang, this year’s curator of the “Garden Taipei/Formosa”, resonates the theme with the “Taiwan Grand Tour”, hoping to waken our desire and ability to move freely during the journey via different kinds of media, also make more people see the marvelous results and how hard Taiwan has devoted to technology, culture, tradition, and tradition via international digital platforms. The tour will have become a window between the world and Taiwan.
The scale of this year’s exhibitions has been brought up a notch. Not only did it carry on displaying the VR and AR productions from last year, but the curator Hsin-Chien Huang has collaborated with three other, Hsiao-Yue Tsao, Billy Chang, and Chung-Hsien Chen, to call out many VR directors, new media artists, start-up companies and government institutions to join the project. There are 22 magnificent programs in total, which will be shown in categories such as “Immersive Tour”, “Animated Tour”, “New Media Tour”, “Earth Tour” and “Action Tour” respectively.
“Immersive Tour”, as the first part of the “Taiwan Grand Tour”, viewers can wander among the mountains, oceans, and rivers in the digital world, even outer space! Six scenes inspired by unique Taiwanese landscapes with cultural and biological features will be shared with the audiences, such as “The Starry Sand Beach” (Directed by Hsin-Chien Huang and Nina Barbier), “Moondream Reality-Rebirth”(Directed by Chi-Yen Chiang, Ami Wu), the shuttle VR 360 stereo video of “TAIPOWER D/S ONE.” (Directed by Ghung-I Hung and Shih-Chou Wen), “Floating Childhoods” (Directed by Hakka Public Communication Foundation and Wen-Chieh Chang), “Blue Tears EP1” (Directed by Hsiao-Yue Tsao), and “Samsara” (Directed by Hsin-Chien Huang).
In the “Animated Tour”, viewers can devote themselves to the characters via different programs. Whether it is the abstract or figurative visual style, audiences can experience anxiety and frustration all the way to happiness and growth. Getting rid of this disappointing reality, viewers shall continue the “Taiwan Grand Tour” through their imagination. This program consists of four animations: "Go Go Giwas: Sowing Dream Seeds"(Directed by Vick Wang, Yi-Feng Kao), "My grandmother is an Egg"(Directed by Wu-Ching Chang),"Inside"(Directed by Yu-Ting Hsueh), and "The Wayward Kite"(Directed by Yu-Ting Hsueh).
In the “New Media Tour” program, nine brilliant pieces created by Taiwanese artists will be shared as the relay points for the “Taiwan Grand Tour.” They use video, sound, electronic music, installation, and various new media to explore different topics, such as family, memory, city, society, landscape, and environment. We firmly believe that digital tools can also capture the warmth and emotions in reality. This program consists of nine artworks: "Surrounding Spectrum"(Directed by Hsiu-Ming Wu), "Nanyang Express II : Eternal Wandering and Tropical Pursuing"(Directed by Yi-Chi Lin), "Wave Waves"(Directed by Sio-Pang Hong), "That ・ This"(Directed by Ching-Chuan Hu), "Signal"(Directed by Chin-Hsiang Hu), "Tower of Babel by the sea"(Directed by Wei-Chung Feng), "How to explain love to an iPhone"(Directed by Jie-Huai Yang), "U+617E_v2.∞"(Directed by Jia-Hua Zhan), and "Absence in Presence"(Directed by Ning Tsai).
In the program “Earth Tour”, viewers will participate in a performance art called “Taste Soil”, which intends to rethink the relationship between humans and land by means of “eating.” The program brings together international eminent chefs Andre Chiang, dancer Billy Chang, new media artist Hsin-Chien Huang and Wen-Chieh Chang, fusing Taiwan’s unique traditions and customs with cuisines and dance performances via VR experience. A feast to the eyes and tastebuds awaits.
Looking back at the present time, humans need to take more efficient scientific actions in the digital world to reduce the consumption and pressure of resources and the environment and cope with the impact in the post-pandemic times. Two important technology units in Taiwan make their debut in the “Action Tour”: Miniwiz Co., Ltd. and the Taipei Urban Intelligence Center. The former is devoted to the sustainable development of materials science with digital technology and design, while the latter is the integration of big data and streaming technology to create a new technical model of urban governance. Combing these two, an answer to developing a sustainable society with digital energy is born. During the tour, a new performance art project is inspired by the digital cross-field cooperation for the first time. The Taipei Urban Intelligence Center will join hands with new media artist Chin-Hsiang Hu and the founder of Inwheel Ghung-I Hung, to create a new media artwork “The Weight of Data” by integrating both virtual and physical materials from different domains and sharing data resources.
The brilliant curatorial concept and lineup of the Taiwan Grand Tour have attracted the interest of the officials of the festival and been in the limelight. Therefore, the festival has invited three creators behind the “Earth Tour”: Andre Chiang, Billy Chang, and Hsin-Chien Huang, to an online interview called “Highlight Channel” at 18:00 on September 1 (Taiwan Time). The link will be provided by the official later on. Moreover, Miniwiz Co., Ltd. and the Taipei Urban Intelligence Center are also invited to share their ideas and experiences in an online show called “Home Delivery.”
The theme of the Garden Taipei/ Formosa is presented in a diverse form of performances by combining different fields multiply. The audience can easily follow the step of the “Taiwan Grand Tour” to explore Taiwan’s magnificent local digital creativity and illustrate a new digital landscape unitedly that only belongs to Taiwan. The 2021 Ars Electronica online exhibition will be held from September 8 to 12, 2021. Click the link below to take a sneak peek of this year’s shows.

how big is taipei 在 Sarah Chang 張學仁 Facebook 的精選貼文
I never imagined that I could actually customize an entire outfit according to my itinerary. Especially since I love to wear matching outfits with my daughters because it's such a sweet bonding experience. Wearing 財財的手作基地 x Bipulent x MiFresa gives our family even more unity and warmness.
Wearing an ocean of colors to match an ocean adventure at XPark Aquarium in Taipei was amazing. First I got to choose the pattern of the clothes, which they have an incredible range - from Taiwanese prints to artistic prints to animal prints - all of which are colorful, fashionable, and family friendly.
I chose 冰島小精靈 and then chose 雙折袖藏肉洋 design because I'm all about comfort and looking nice at the same time. For Kali's dress I choose 洋娃娃洋 because I absolutely loved the giant bow on the side and the inner lace lining. I was really impressed with the quality of the fabric and detailing when I received the outfits! It was well beyond what I expected. I expected the fabric to be a bit stiff just because of the nature of how they looked, but they are so soft and comfortable to wear.
For Sasa, I got a little bib to match our outfits. To my surprise, it actually also happens to be the most useful bib that I own! It is both wide and thick, making it a perfect bib to absorb all the wonderful drool and spit-up that us mommies have to deal with.
We had a great day with our perfect matching outfits which brought the right mood as the penguins and sharks swam around us in gorgeous giant aquariums.
I also wanted a cute outfit to nicely match our home garden, so I picked 阿里山摸摸口 to match the exotic foliage and fruits growing in our garden. I'm a huge fan of pockets so I choose 媽咪長罩衫 design. It's a great outfit with a form-fitting cut that is also easily accessible for breastfeeding moms.
For Kali's outfit I chose 浮誇小女僕, another adorable dress with a big bow in the back. To my delight, I found that the dress actually has adjustable buttons in the back, so I can be using this for many years to come!
And of course my lounging clothes! I got cute matching mother daughter socks as well that Kali and I love to wear inside and outside the house! They're soft and comfortable on my feet.
Heading on an outing somewhere? Be sure to pickup some cute matching outfits to get those awesome shots on your trip! <3

hi everyone! i wanna share with you a little bit more about myself today! my name is rayray and yes im from taipei, taiwan! you probably know me as an alien or a crazy person who likes to lie on the stage or drink vodka from the bottle. maybe this is something you don’t know - i started djing back in 2009, and I was a hip-hop dj. i was super into hip-hop culture and all the underground hip-hop music. i used to play vinyls and scratch. i competed quite a few dj competitions and finally i won the Red Bull 3Style taiwan championship in 2013. after that year, my whole world changed. i started to meet a lot of artists around the world & I got to explore more different music genres. i got myself into producing after I went to SXSW in 2015. and after that year, trap music became really big. i was so happy i found a music style I could explore and have fun with it. In 2016, i got selected in RBMA & that was another life turning point for me. i got to work with the super talented artists in the world in montreal. i also met Yellow Claw that year too. i’m so grateful that they gave me the opportunity to be part of Barong Family label. in the past few years, i tried to level up myself by learning how to sing & rap in my own music, and i have been devoting myself to the bass music scene in Asia. ive been releasing 3 EPs on barong family, and so many tracks on different labels. i’m really happy to be who I am & i always tell myself everything happens for a reason. many thanks to all the people who has been helping me & thank you for the opportunities and the support. it’s been a very hard time for all the artists since last year, but we are going through this all together. looking forward to see you all very soon, god speed!👽

AIMYON:
Genuine & authentic are the perfect words to describe Aimyon, a guitar-strumming storyteller of today’s youth in Japan.
Without a doubt she is one of the biggest artists in the Japanese music scene. She has fans around the world and those in Taipei and Shanghai were lucky enough to see her perform live in their cities.
She has had constant hits including “Naked Heart”, “Let the Night” (each with 100 million streams certified by Billboard) and “Marigold” (first ever Japanese song to hit 100 million streams, and racking up 200 million streams to date) to name a few. She is one of the first artists in Japan to truly flourish through streaming platforms where young music listeners come to discover new music. Fans are always looking out for the visual sides of Aimyon as well: Her music videos are never over the top but entertaining, real and soothing. Aimyon’s favorite artwork designer Tondabayashi Ran also knows how to add Aimyon flavor to each release, helping to create her distinct world.

Gaho 대호《開始 Start Over 시작》(電視劇「梨泰院CLASS」OST)小提琴版本
| Violin cover by Lin Tzu An of OST of TV series “Itaewon Class” by Gaho

Itaewon Class is without doubt the most big hit Korean drama recently!
"Start Over 시작" is exactly the song for Mr. Park Sae-ro-yi.
Even for those who don't understand Korean, the charming melody can make people feel how inspiring it is!
In order to understand the song better, I finished watching all 16 episodes in 3 days.
I am truly moved by how they insist on and go forward for their faith and really excited to see they become something from nothing.
Let's goooo, hope y’all like this!

Many people have mentioned that Pokémon GO is dead especially when compared to when the game came out back in 2016. However, the crowd at this Taipei Safari Zone event speaks otherwise and shows how insane it can get when the number of people participating in this 4 days event reached almost 300,000 people considering that fact that the sun was scorching hot during those 4 days, yet people were still walking in the New Metropolitan Park to catch old and also new shiny Pokemon, Oddish.
Join me as I travel, eat and play Pokémon GO the way a local trainer would in their own country and city.
