【校園新聞】武漢肺炎肆虐 學生會改以流水式重建連儂牆
學生會及守護港大聯署小組於今日（14日）舉行「重建港大連儂牆行動」。
自本月起，U-Street連儂牆上的文宣屢次被清拆。校方先於七月八日凌晨派人清拆U-Street連儂牆柱上印有「光復香港，時代革命」及「香港獨立」字句的文宣。而於七月十一日，亦有不明人士破壞U-Street連儂牆上的文宣及祭壇，其後逃去。
面對學生言論自由多次被校方打壓，學生會堅持保存位於U-Street的連儂牆。由於武漢肺炎肆虐，學生會將活動改以流水式進行，並呼籲各位同學分散於不同時段自行重建連儂牆。學生會會長葉芷琳會見傳媒，再次譴責校內保安於處理連儂牆文宣被破壞一事上未夠積極，並指出會加強與保安部的溝通，確保校內保安能保障學生的財產及人身安全。其後有學生會幹事及同學到達U-Street連儂牆重新貼上文宣。
本台在拍攝期間，一名外籍保安上前兩度指向本台記者，並警告不能拍到其容貌 (“make sure you don’t take my pictures”)，反應極為敏感。
【Campus News】Students’ Union adopted a “flow control” rebuild of Lennon Wall due to a surge in Wuhan Virus
Students’ Union (hereafter SU) and standuphker organised Rebuild the HKU Lennon Wall today. Since early July, messages on the Lennon Wall on U-Street has been vandalised twice. On July 8th, the school administration ordered the demolition of some messages on the pillars near the Lennon Wall. 3 days later, an unknown group of people sabotaged messages and altars on the Lennon Wall.
Despite that students’ freedom of speech has been suppressed by the school numerous times, SU continues to preserve the Lennon Wall on U-Street. SU called on students to rebuild the Lennon Wall at different time periods. When meeting with the press, President of the SU Edy Jeh condemns the school security’s indifference in dealing with the vandalism of the Lennon Wall. Jeh said that SU would strengthen the communication with school security and ensure that the security would safeguard student’s property as well as safety. SU executives arrived at U-Street to repost the messages on Lennon Wall afterwards.
When filming the activity, a security of foreign nationality warned Campus TV reporters not to take his pictures and even pointed his fingers at our reporters twice.
