北宋 汝窯 蓮花式溫碗 / Warming bowl in the shape of a flower with light greenish-blue glaze, Porcelain, Ju Ware, Northern Sung dynasty, ca. Early 12th century
這個陳列櫃裡，同時放著一件粉青色蓮花形的碗和一隻黃色閃玉雕琢的鴨子。
十瓣蓮花式樣深碗，原來是盛水來溫熱酒壺，造型優雅如花。鴨子造型生動，栩栩如生；凸顯了鴨子翹尾豐臀的體態特徵，顯得既可愛又活潑。兩件作品都令人感受到大自然輕鬆閒適的趣味。
從北宋開始，越來越多以自然優雅為題材的工藝品。這種流行趨勢，跟繪畫重視「寫生」的發展是一致的：畫家觀察研究對象之後，與對象相融為一，畫面中才能自然流露出生命與天機。宋代的工藝有著與詩畫相通的美感，追求精巧，不求濃豔。本件玉鴨的頭、腹及雙足部份是褐色的，分布巧妙，它的凹處光澤枯澀，凸處就十分油亮；色彩的濃度由嘴、足的尖端向後逐漸變淡，十分有趣。
這件蓮花碗，以略高的足部托著修長的花瓣，邊緣細薄，有著金屬器般的銳利感。而帶著藍色調溫潤的釉面裡，分佈著淺淡的紋線；花瓣口的邊緣，釉層較薄，微微透著粉色光澤，讓人好奇宋人飲酒器皿裡多層次的品賞趣味。
這就是宋代----這個陳列室的主題，既實用又優雅，是自然生趣，又技巧精妙，讓人咀嚼再三。
