TERBANG BERSAMA MDB (SIRI 86)

Berhijrah ke Australia (5)

Awfa macam ada sesuatu nak cakap. Dia berumur 9 tahun di pengujung tahun 2011. Cuti sekolah panjang tidak lama lagi akan sampai sempena musim panas di Australia.

"Abah, I haven't asked anything from you. I really miss my cousins and my grand mother. I want to go back to Malaysia. Please."

Inilah suara Awfa pada ketika itu. Saya terkedu juga. Kalau boleh saya nak dia belajar di Australia sampai kakak dia tamat belajar di Wollongong. Kualiti pendidikan di Austalia memang antara terbaik di Dunia.

Saya banyak berfikir. Akhirnya kami membuat keputusan untuk kembali semula ke Malaysia. Mungkin fasa bagi menetap di Malaysia sudah sampai. Tinggal di negara luar memang menarik & juga mencabar tetapi tinggal di negara senditi pun menarik & mencabar. Kami membuat persiapan bagi pulang ke Malaysia di hujung tahun 2011.

Di antara aktiviti terakhir kami ialah menaiki bot meninjau ikan paus di muara Sydney. Pada mulanya, cuaca agak baik. Bila berada di tengah laut sikit, tiba2 cuaca bertukar mendung. Angin bergerak laju. Ombak bergelora. Saya muntah teruk. Ikan paus hanya dapat dilihat sipi-sipi sahaja. Bila sampai di rumah, saya terus tidur. Mabuk laut yang luar biasa. Pengalaman ini masih tersemat kemas.

Kami semua sampai di Malaysia di bulan Disember 2011. Kami kembali di rumah lama kami di Gombak. Awfa dapat masuk sekolah Adni di tahun 2012. Saya pula hanya teruskan trip saya antara KL & Dubai hampir setiap 2 minggu sekali. Tidak perlu lagi terbang 8 jam bagi sampai ke Sydney dan 1 jam keretapi untuk sampai di rumah di Wollongong.

Apakah ada pada tinggal dan bekerja di luar negara? Banyak sekali kebaikan. Antaranya, anda boleh membuat tanda aras bagi diri sendiri. Anda menjadi insan bertanda aras.

1. Take it as it comes / Cross the bridge when we come to it
= To deal with something as it happens, without planning for it (Thể hiện sự bình tĩnh, sẵn sàng giải quyết mọi việc khi nó xảy ra)

Ex:Just take each day as it comes and do what you feel is right.
2. Keep a straight face
= Try not to laugh or react to something (Cố gắng giữ cho mặt bình thường, không cười phá lên trước những thứ mắc cười)
Ex: I couldn’t keep a straight face as the lecturer still keeped adding memes in his slide

3. I wouldn’t trust him/her as far as I can throw him/her

TERBANG BERSAMA MDB (SIRI 57)

Short Trip

Pelbagai negara yang saya perlu terbang kerana urusan kerja. Saya tidak banyak terbang untuk urusan cuti. Antara beberapa negara yang saya selau terbang & hanya memberi masa kurang dari 5 jam adalah Bahrain, Oman & Qatar. Ini kerana saya lebih suka kembali semula ke Dubai apabila selesai semua kerja.

'Perjalanan balik hari' ini memang seronok & menjadi kebiasaan. Malah, kadang2 saya sempat hadir sebuah mesyuarat di awal pagi di Dubai & sebuah mesyuarat di Muscat di sebelah petang dan menaiki kapalterbang pulang semula ke Dubai sekitar jam 7 atau 9 malam.

Pernah juga saya terbang ke Muscat jam 7 pagi dari Dubai bagi mesyuarat jam 8.30 pagi dan sempat balik ke Dubai dengan pesawat yamg sama jam 11 pagi. Ia juga kerap berlaku dalam sektor Kuala Lumpur- Singapura-Kuala Lumpur. Kadang2 paramugari & paramugara hairan melihat saya kembali semula ke atas pesawat. Sekejap tadi, saya datang bersama mereka & sekarang pulang ke destinasi asal bersama mereka. Saya juga suka jadual sebegini kerana pengurusan masa yang lebih baik.

Masalah utama kalau pesawat lewat atau delayed. Ataupun jalanraya jamned luar biasa. Ia pernah berlaku tetapi selalunya misi ini berjaya. Masalah kedua ialah makanan jadi tak menentu. Makan apa sahaja sekadar lapik perut.

Satu lagi hiburan bila selalu terbang menghadiri mesyuarat Syariah ialah dapat bersama dengan tokoh2 ilmuan Syariah dalam kewangan Islam. Memang mesyuarat selama 2-3 jam menarik tetapi perbincangan & maklumat sampingan atau buku2 terbaru banyak membuka minda. Lagipun, mensyuarat dalam bilik yang kecil menjadikan suasana persahabatan lebih intim.

Foto dalam post ini adalah bersama Sheikh Dr Ali al-Qaradaghi (Qatar) & Sheikh Nizam Yaaqubi (Bahrain) dalam sebuah mesyuarat di Bahrain bagi sebuah bank Islam. Mesyuarat ini selalunya bermula jam 1 tenghari & berakhir jam 3 petang. Selepas mesyuarat, saya & Sheikh al-Qaradaghi akan bersama2 dalam sebuah kereta menuju lapangan terbang. Kami juga bersama berehat sekejap di lounge selama 30-45 minit sebelum beliau terbang ke Doha jam 5 petang & saya ke Dubai jam 6 petang.

Inilah rutin kehidupan saya dalam short trip.
