MAMA TIME
After a crazy weekend, Ella Grace wanted to do puzzles w mama before bed time. Remember how we talked about a child-led connection with lots of laughter?

Spending these few minutes w her, talking about her day, enjoying each other is renewing for the both of us and really helps with overall behavior.

EMPOWER
Notice that as soon as Ella Grace makes a mess on the floor she says “wipe it up”. We don’t make a big fuss of it, she automatically knows that she’s in charge of the mess, that she has a solution for it, and then we move on with not much interruption (threatening, bribing, sharing, etc).

If you do this consistently, if you give them consistent boundaries and trust that they are capable of this expectation, then they will start to do this naturally too because remember? Big picture goals! We want healthy, happy, well-adjusted, responsible little ones!

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY (EXPLORATION)
This is probably the hardest and easiest thing to do as a parent. Sit on your hands but also still engage! We bought this puzzle for her about a week ago (DJECO from Janie & Joe) and at first she really struggled with it. I encouraged her but really had to give her the safe space to make mistakes, give her the opportunity of being so proud of figuring out hard things and a week later, she’s really good at this because instead of making it easy for her when she was frustrated, she had the chance to see what worked and didn’t and how the puzzle fits together.

Also really fun, when she starts to pretend play after building her puzzle! Sometimes, just taking a beat allows them the opportunity to foster their creativity and imagination! I saw a cute puzzle, she saw a chance to be an ice cream vendor, offering a cup or cone, w sprinkles too! 😂❤️

PREP PREP PREP
The last part when I’m asking her to say bye and love you is such an important reminder why prepping is important!

Notice how she thinks I’m leaving and immediately, she is confused and trying to process. Imagine if I wasn’t taking a video but really just needing to head to work or go out after that.

If you do plan on leaving or moving on to something else, always prep! In this case, before we took out the puzzles, I would have reminded her that we would play puzzles then mama had to go to etc etc etc. For us last night it was, 3 puzzles (be specific and hold your boundaries firmly) and then it was time to get ready for bed.

PICK YOUR BATTLES!!
Want to know why her top button is undone? It annoys her when she lies down and she doesn’t like it riding up to her neck so she asks to undo it. Mama picks her battle...so I would rather have her dressed in pajamas w one button undone then nothing on w a screaming child. Because on the grand scheme of things...does it really really matter?

SOAK IT ALL IN
If all else fails, just soak it all in. It goes by so so fast mama, stay calm and confident, believe in your little and yourself, have fun and always always just lead with love. ❤️❤️❤️

《台北市*免費吹冷氣遛小孩*好去處：三創生活園區》

為了見到心儀的宮崎駿的動畫展出（
吉卜力的動畫世界特展），特地請休假的雙Q爸開車載我們北上朝聖。昨天天氣實在是有夠炎熱，為了等待看展的入場時間（因觀展人數很多再加上可以拍照，所以現場有控管人數和時間，為維護觀賞品質，必須先領取號碼牌再入場），就到離華山文化園區走路3分鐘就到的「三創」吹冷氣。

沒想到這裡超適合遛小孩，室內空間很大，冷氣很涼，B2還有美食街和7-11。美食街很多餐飲攤位，有販賣甜點涼飲、還有日式拉麵大阪燒（不錯吃），充滿多樣化的飲食，難怪這樓層是人潮最多。
另外，還可以帶小孩到7樓的「子親娛樂」，那兒有國外知名品牌玩具（如：美國B.toys&our generation、日本mothergarden、德國playmobil和法國DJECO等）櫃位進駐，很多都有提供玩具試玩，還有拼豆手創、黏土捏塑、Puzzle story、有科學特色的書店-光年子親 和親子餐廳baby kitchen。

之後看完展，又跑來這裡閒晃吃點心，意外發現這裡也有好多可愛的裝置藝術可以拍照，兩個小孩玩得很開心。

若有要來華山看展的朋友，建議來隔一條馬路的三創來用餐，看看最新的3c資訊，逛逛美食街和購物中心，是很舒服的室內行程。

（另外，真的很推薦大家去看吉卜力的世界動畫特展👍，展出佈景很精緻用心，動畫人物塑像栩栩如生，尤其聽到這個展覽是台灣和日本官方談了5年才願意點頭讓我們設展，還同意開放拍照，不然在日本館內是禁止的。晚點再來和大家分享超好看的展覽剪影，只能說等待是值得的^_^）
