Last week at @orchardhealthclinic my therapist, Vanessa, said my neck is in a much better shape than it did 2 weeks ago, the muscles are a lot, a lot more relaxed. What changed, she asked.
What changed is, I managed to sleep from 10pm-5am bcos Layla slept though the night after 2 weeks of waking up every 3hrs.
With sufficient rest, i woke up feeling superb, emotionally and physically. I was completely in awe with what one night of rest can do to the body!
Even superman needs a break. Moreover, we, moms, are just human with superhuman abilities.
We know we need to rest. But once baby naps or goes to bed at night, suddenly we realize we have clothes to fold, floor to sweep, clothes to pack and all that nonsense. Mommies, STOP! Lol..
Give yourself that well-deserved break!
On 3 June, 930pm, @the_positive_movement and I will be coming together to conduct a 1hr session for mommies to relax!
In this session, we will take you through simple stretches and a science-based mediation exercise that will help you to release tension, reduce cortisol and access deeper levels of relaxation.
Unlike previous sessions, there'll be no sharing, no htht, you dont even need to switch on your video. Just come in your pyjamas and earphones, and be ready to relax!
To sign up, please click on the link on my bio.

The Great Multitude in Heaven
“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could count, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?” I told him, “My lord, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood. Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.” (Revelation 7:9-15 WEB)
The passage above depicts the scene of the saints arriving in Heaven right after the Rapture.
The main confusion for most people here regarding the timeline of this event is because of the words “came out of the great tribulation”, making them think that it happens in the middle or end of the Tribulation.
However, I believe that the Rapture happens once the appointed time for the Tribulation begins.
Whether someone comes out of the Tribulation at the start, in the middle, or at the end of it does not matter—it is still coming out of the Tribulation.
Let me give you an example. Let’s say you go and watch a movie at a cinema. You did not like the movie immediately, so you left the cinema shortly after arriving. The fact is, you still came out of the cinema, even if it was at the start of the movie. Makes sense?
Additionally, the Tribulation saints who miss the Rapture and only believe in Jesus during the Tribulation will not receive salvation immediately, but only at the end of the Tribulation when Jesus returns. They have to endure to the end (without receiving the mark of the beast) to be saved.
Read the following passage which takes place after the Tribulation, at the start of the Millennial reign of Christ. It shows that the martyred Tribulation saints will only come alive again and receive eternal life after the Tribulation has ended:
“I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.” (Revelation 20:4-5 WEB)
Jesus said the following words to the church of Philadelphia (all of them have fallen asleep since then):
“Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” (Revelation 3:10 WEB)
There is an hour of testing coming upon the whole world, which is the seven years of Tribulation, but it is not for the church. Jesus’ message is true for the church today as well. We will not be going through the Tribulation.
“But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians 5:8-10 WEB)
We are not waiting for the Antichrist to appear. Instead, we are looking forward to Jesus’ return. We will obtain the last part of our salvation: the transformation of our mortal bodies into glorified bodies. Those who have fallen asleep will be raised from the dead first, and then we will all be transformed in the twinkling of an eye, to have immortal bodies that match our righteous spirits.
We are not appointed to go through the time of wrath. God knows how to separate the righteous from the wicked, just as He made a distinction between the children of Israel and the Egyptians during the ten plagues in Egypt. The children of Israel were preserved alive, and so were their flocks, but the Egyptians and their flocks suffered/died.
So do not fear—lift your head and confidently expect Jesus to return for us any day now!
Let me end off with a poem I wrote called “Jesus I Need You”. As you read, tune your heart to expect His imminent return. It is a hope that purifies you!
Jesus I’d be lost without Your love,
everyday would be so hard.
When things don’t go my way,
I fall into Your embrace,
I am forever Yours.
I can’t imagine life without You,
that would be Hell for sure.
I need grace and mercy that’s from You,
by myself I’m powerless.
Let me abide in the Vine,
I’ll hear of You and be fine.
Faith will rise—I’ll speak forth life,
fruitfulness is sure.
Take my hand and guide me through life,
I know you’ll never let me go.
With You I’ll walk on water,
we’ll rise above every power.
Lord Jesus,
you’ll catch me when I fall.
Amidst every trial,
You are there through it all.
I just want to see You,
I long for that perfect day.
Where we’ll meet in the clouds,
and I’ll see Your lovely face.

Last night, Fatimah had an anxiety attack at 4am. At first, I thought she was just having a bad dream, so I told her to go back to sleep. She was quiet for a while, refusing to talk. But a few minutes later, she started to hyperventilate. Only then did I realise there was something wrong with her. The very first thing that I did was calm myself down, because if I panic, she will get worse. So I pulled myself together and told her to calm down. She started crying...
.
She then said, "I want Mamajee! I’m scared! Kakak Athisha is leaving and she won’t come back like Mamajee."
.
At that point, I understood that the cause of her anxiety attack was because Athisha was going back to Malaysia for the Christmas holidays. So now, I realise that separation seems to trigger her anxiety. She couldn’t make it to school, refused to have breakfast and she was crying on and off for a few hours. But luckily, we had some leftover lasagna - her favourite - so we finally managed to convince her to eat. After lunch, Mr Dad took her out shopping for a bit of fresh air. Alhamdulillah, she looks a lot better now and she said that she’s going back to school.
.
I’m sharing this to reach out to other parents out there. Anxiety is real. Anxiety exists. Not only in adults, but children too. Anxiety is not a sign of weakness. Anxiety is not attention-seeking. Anxiety is a common part of the grieving process. Please do not neglect your children’s emotional wellbeing. If you too are going through a similar experience, please know that you are not alone. Hang in there. Be strong. And if things get worse, please seek professional help.
.
Love,
Mrs Mom xx

?Thank you Kakak @athishakhan for picking up the phone in the middle of the night, and sorry for making you worried. Please don’t think too much - Fatimah is OK now. Enjoy your holiday. We’ll see you after the New Year.

?Thank you @drauntie.uk for always being ready to support us, no matter where you are. We miss you so much. Can’t wait to see you soon!
.
?Thank you Mama Love @noorkartini for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to Fatimah even though you aren’t well yourself. We pray that you’ll feel better soon.

The NBA scoring champion took his show into the playoffs Sunday and overcame a bad case of pregame jitters.
"You got anything bigger than butterflies?" Allen Iverson asked, searching for the words to describe his anxiety. "I might have had a buzzard in my stomach."
Iverson scored 30 points Sunday in the first NBA playoff game of his career as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Orlando Magic 104-90 in the opener of their best-of-5, first-round series.
Iverson said he slept poorly and woke up hourly, beginning at 5:30 a.m., in anticipation of the team's 9 a.m. breakfast. He's always nervous before a game, but said realizing a lifelong dream of appearing in the playoffs made Sunday especially gut-wrenching.
"I heard he got 15 minutes of sleep last night. That was 15 more than I expected," Philadelphia coach Larry Brown said, adding that the third-year pro's debut didn't surprise him.
"I think he handles situations like this pretty well," the coach added. "The only thing that I worry about is when he takes an individual challenge too much. I think he realizes now that he can just play."
Iverson, who said he actually got a lot more than 15 minutes of sleep, made 12 of 29 shots and finished with seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and six turnovers in 45 minutes.
When he wasn't the answer for the 76ers, Matt Geiger was. The center scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and led an 11-0 run that Philadelphia used to pull away for good.
Geiger also had 10 rebounds, helping the 76ers compile a whopping 57-36 edge on the boards.
Iverson struggled after scoring 18 in the opening half, missing 10 of his first 13 shots in the second half. But he held his composure and provided the basket that gave Philadelphia the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter.
"I'm still excited," said Iverson, who at 6-feet became the smallest player in league history to win a scoring title, averaging 26.8 points. "I feel like I could play another 48 minutes. The crowd was against us, but it was great just playing in that kind of atmosphere."
Penny Hardaway led Orlando with 19 points, but only three came in the second half. Nick Anderson added 18 and rookie Michael Doleac had 11.
The Magic used four different defenders -- Anderson, Hardaway, Darrell Armstrong and Matt Harpring -- on Iverson, and none of them enjoyed much success.
When Orlando tried to double-team the scoring champion, Iverson did a good job of finding Geiger and other teammates. Magic coach Chuck Daly is not sure the Magic can do much different defensively against him in Game 2 Tuesday night.
"We've done about everything. And I think that regardless of what you do, he's going to get 25 points ... He's really a genius with the basketball," Daly said.
George Lynch had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the 76ers, who won two of three regular-season meetings against Orlando, which at 21-4 had the best home record in the Eastern Conference this year.
The Magic shot only 34 percent from the field in the first two quarters, yet trailed just 50-47 at the half because they outscored the 76ers 23-6 from the foul line while attempting 31 free throws to Philadelphia's 13.
In three regular-season games against Orlando, Iverson averaged nearly 23 points a game. The Magic held him to 16 points in one game and 14 in another, although cold shooting probably was as much of a factor as Orlando's defense.
The 76ers star set the tone early with 11 first-quarter points and two assists, including a lob to Larry Hughes that the Philadelphia rookie caught up to on the baseline for a highlight-reel dunk and a 31-22 lead.
The Magic stayed close by living on the foul line, particularly in the last 6:10 of the second quarter when they trimmed four points off Philadelphia's lead despite going scoreless from the field.
Anderson's 3-pointer tied the game early in the third quarter, and the Magic went ahead briefly before the 76ers settled down to lead 70-69 going into the final period.
"They just outhustled us, plain and simple, in our own building," said Hardaway, the Magic's four-time All-Star guard. "They came in and were more aggressive on the backboards than we were, and it showed."
Notes: Once one of the toughest places in the NBA to get a ticket, Orlando Arena was not filled for Sunday's game. Attendance was announced as 15,267 -- 1,981 shy of capacity. About 3,000 tickets were available 90 minutes before tipoff ... Although the 76ers are in the playoffs for the first time since 1991, eight of the 15 players on the team had postseason experience before Sunday. Rick Mahorn, who's in his 16th season, led the way with 101 games. The other seven -- Tyrone Hill, Eric Snow, Harvey Grant, Aaron McKie, George Lynch, Matt Geiger and Theo Ratliff -- had a combined 94 games of playoff experience ... Iverson won the scoring title despite shooting just .412 from the field -- the lowest mark by a scoring champion since George Mikan shot 40.7 percent in 1949-50.
