This is the premiere press conference of the first idol drama I filmed in Taiwan! At that time, my friend took the photos for me in the audience. He suddenly sent these photos to me last night, and then he told me that he said you looked really handsome when you were young! What does that mean? Does it mean that different much in now? Haha....
When I saw this photo, I personally shined. I also think that I was really look good when I was young.
If I continue to film and I don't change to become a host and a radio host to continue filming, then today may be better in the theater circle. Achievement! This is just a hypothetical idea and it's also a joke, don't take it too seriously!

Discovering the truth behind President Tsai Ing-wen’s thesis is the responsibility of intellectuals and the media. Six months ago, prosecutors sought to charge Professor Hwan C. Lin, Professor Ho De-fen, and Dr. Dennis Peng with defamation. It was the first time an acting president brought forth a lawsuit against scholars.
For two years, anyone who doubted Tsai Ing-wen’s thesis, or even questioned it, were ridiculed by the media and legally persecuted. But, aren’t government leaders in a democratic society obligated to have the authenticity of their credentials tested? Why does the opposite prevail in Taiwan? Why can a leader who has their credentials questioned forgo providing proof and can, instead, use the judicial system to suppress those that question them?
The hallmark of a dutiful scholar is how willing they are to uphold academic integrity. A desire to authenticate Tsai’s degree is a basic reaction for anyone who considers themselves part of the academic circle. However, after Tsai sought legal action against the three scholars, the public came to understand that “questioning Tsai’s degree will get you sued.” Such a precedent is an affront to academic integrity, and an insult to intellectuals everywhere.
Can Taiwan deem itself a proud democracy if its head of state is allowed to use privilege to elevate themselves their whole life, and then escape criticism when questioned? Can Taiwan say it’s the proud democracy it claims to be when judicial mechanisms are used to enact acts of academic fraud? Martial law has been abolished for decades, and yet this country still operates like a dictatorship. Today is about transitional justice in the academic realm. Transitional justice begins when we can face our mistakes. Here, justice begins when Tsai faces her own academic fraud.
Today’s press conference is about rallying the public to stand up against authoritarianism. We call on Tsai Ing-wen to do her duty as head of state and divulge the truth about her thesis. If she refuses to do so, then the other purpose of today is to reveal the evidence we have found that uncovers that truth.
It’s time the lies ended. We will hold a press conference at the Legislative Yuan tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Eat News will broadcast the entire event live: https://www.eatnews.co.uk/video/20210909-1/

The content of the exhibition this year relied on bringing many fields together, for example, the “Earth Tour: Taste Your Soul” is co-created with the internationally renowned chef Andre Chiang. Also, “The Weight of Data” is collaborated among the Taipei Urban Intelligence Center, Peppercorns, and Roboenter, presenting how technology could change our society in a variety of forms. Huang hoped that the future development of digital technology in Taiwan can be broadened and extended to different fields to get in touch with more perspectives and subjects. He was certain that with the online exhibition and the press conference, more creative energy would be gathered, and Taiwan would be put on the map.

【An open letter to Dr Tedros
This is an open letter to Dr Tedros, the Director General of the WHO, in response to the accusations against Taiwan during the 8th of April WHO press conference.
Dear Dr Tedros,
I am Vivi Lin from Taiwan, a current undergraduate student studying Infectious Diseases in the UK.
Upon hearing your response in the press conference today, I was utterly shocked and saddened that such misleading allegations could come from a supposedly respected health professional and the head of the world’s most influential international health organisation.
As a student who has been working closely with Taiwanese and British Medical and Health-related NGOs, I can affirm that there has never been any disrespectful comments from our government and our diplomats towards you and the African continent due to race, culture or skin colour.
I am aware that there are various petitions online urging for your resignation from the WHO. However, none of the requests or criticisms were based on discriminations against your race or skin colour, nor people from the African continent.
Taiwan has been striving to contribute as much as possible to the international community and to be a part of the global team in combating this pandemic. Although we have been excluded from the WHO, we have never given up. Our government has done an exemplary job in containing the virus, a feat that has been praised by officials and health professionals from all around the world. And now, as we have some spare capacity, we are sending aid to our allies and other countries, including those in America, Europe and in Africa who have been harshly impacted by the outbreak.
According to our health professionals who used to work closely with various countries in Africa, a temporary hospital has been built by Taiwan in Eswatini at the moment, and some important medical supplies sent by Taiwan are finding their way to Africa as well.
With all the aforementioned in mind, how can you, in a few sentences, attempt to smear Taiwan’s reputation with such irresponsible and false accusations?
In the past two days, WHO hosted webinars in regards to how we, as individuals or as health professionals and officials, should confront the current info-demic. Ironically, just right after the webinar, Dr Tedros, as the DG of the WHO, was accusing Taiwan with misinformation.
I firmly believe that health is a fundamental human right that should not be denied despite differences of any kind. Health for all, leave no one behind is also the core value that the WHO stands for. Please do not forget your dedication as a public health professional and the vows that you made when you ascended to the honorable position you are sitting at right now - health of people in the world comes first, not politics.
We are now facing the most challenging health crisis of our time. Taiwan cares about people’s health. We are willing to help, and we are helping now. Taiwan is a country that stands for progressive values, and we, as the Taiwanese people, are also known for our appreciation for diversity. We have never criticised you nor your actions based on your race, culture or skin colour.
I, on behalf of my beloved country and people, am now asking for an apology from you under the current circumstance.
Thank you for your time.
Vivi Lin

Two major things happened this week: 1/ COP (Conference of the Parties - ie the only time countries meet to negotiate climate agreements) just wrapped up in Spain. 2/ Youth climate activist Greta Thunberg was named TIME Person of the Year. Today, we discuss something in between.
Every year at COP, young activists continue to be at the front of the conversation. This episode, we meet a climate activist from Taiwan who’s attendance at a previous COP as a 21-year-old created a diplomatic stir. He also found a very unlikely ally, who also took him to Antarctica.
Our youth activist is Liang-Yi Chang (張良伊). He co-founded the Taiwan Youth Climate Coalition in 2008/9. Today, he’s Asian Managing Director for the international environmental organization, 350.org. And this is his story.

On Taiwan Hashtag hosted by Ross Feingold, we discuss the release from
prison in Hong Kong of Chan Tong-kai 陳同佳, wanted in Taiwan for the
murder of Poon Hui-wing 潘曉穎. The now withdrawn Extradition Bill in Hong
Kong was originally proposed by the Hong Kong government to extradite
Chan to Taiwan in the absence of a bilateral extradition agreement.
Despite Chan’s apparent willingness to return to Taiwan, Hong Kong’s
government has rejected the conditions demanded by Taiwan’s government
which include the exchange of Chan’s testimony and other evidence that
Hong Kong police and prosecutors may have obtained from Chan. Taiwan has
also required that Chan and Reverend Peter Koon Ho-ming, who is willing
to accompany Chan to Taiwan, present themselves at Taiwan’s
representative office in Hong Kong for a visa interview, to confirm
Chan’s identity and due to Koon’s status as a Chinese People’s Political
Consultative Conference representative. Taiwan government statements
continue to evolve on whether Hong Kong has jurisdiction over Chan for
the murder charge. Unnecessary conditions by Taiwan? Unnecessary
politicization of the matter? Unnecessary delay of justice? Watch our
show for latest analysis.
