Bất chấp sự bùng phát của đại dịch COVID-19 toàn cầu gây ra thất nghiệp lớn và giảm thu nhập của tầng lớp lao động Mỹ, mức lương khởi điểm cho những sinh viên tốt nghiệp đại học gần đây vẫn tiếp tục tăng.Theo một báo cáo vào đầu tháng 9 từ Hiệp hội các Trường đại học và Nhà tuyển dụng Quốc gia (NACE) của Mỹ, mức lương khởi điểm trung bình của những sinh viên tốt nghiệp đại học tại Mỹ trong năm 2020 là khoảng 55.260 USD. Con số này cao hơn khoảng 2,5% so với những người tốt nghiệp năm năm 2019 (53.889 USD) và 8,5% so với khoá ra trường năm 2018 (50.944 USD).
Trong đó, những sinh viên tốt nghiệp các chuyên ngành khoa học, công nghệ, kỹ thuật và toán học (STEM), mức thu nhập khởi điểm trung bình của họ thậm chí còn cao hơn.Dưới đây là danh sách 10 ngành nghề có mức lương khởi điểm cao nhất tại Mỹ
