持卡人─澳洲籍田記禮Tom Fifield先生於本(109)年6月通過高級專業人才審查取得我國國籍

Card-holder Tom Fifield among high-level professionals granted ROC citizenship in June 2020.
就業金卡自2018年2月推動迄今(2020年6月)，已核發872張，成效顯著，其中，澳洲籍田記禮Tom Fifield先生也是其中一位。田記禮為全球公認雲端平台開源軟體OpenStack專家，曾獲得澳洲墨爾本大學物理學院授予榮譽院士，並主導澳洲國家學術雲端中心NeCTAR之雲端架構設計。
田記禮多年前曾來過臺灣，因熱愛臺灣，於2018年申請就業金卡，在臺生活期間除參加本會舉辦的就業金卡頒發及交流茶會、協助拍攝宣傳影片，並在本會建立的就業金卡臉書社群熱心提供個人經驗及相關資訊，協助其他就業金卡持卡人解決在臺生活所面臨的各項問題。田記禮因想長期在臺生活居住貢獻己力，持有就業金卡2年後，再申請高級專業人才，目前已獲內政部核准取得我國國籍，將擁有參政權及享有各種社會福利保障，且可保有雙重國籍。
田記禮近日向本會表示：「臺灣人珍貴的友善和熱情享譽國際，這讓每位移居至臺灣的人都受益良多，無論是幫助鄰居搬家、在捷運上讓位、還是在臺灣醫療血庫缺血時捐血，福爾摩沙這個寶島上的人們永遠不會讓人失望，我也將一直努力盡我所能地利用一切機會來推廣臺灣的產業潛能與提升臺灣的國際人才吸引力。」
Since its February 2018 launch, the Card’s been issued to 872 foreign special professionals (to June 2020). Among recipients is Australian Tom Fifield, a world-renowned expert on the OpenStack free open standard cloud computing platform. An Honorary Fellow of University of Melbourne School of Physics, Tom was team lead of the Australian University research cloud, NeCTAR.
Having earlier stayed in Taiwan and loved it, Tom applied for a Card in 2018. He’s since participated actively in Card-related events, contributed greatly to the NDC’s Card-holder Facebook Group, and helped other Card-holders settle into life in Taiwan. Having held the Card for two years and wishing to stay long-term, Tom applied for citizenship. Approved as a qualified high-level professional, Tom will enjoy full ROC citizenship rights and benefits while retaining Australian citizenship.
Tom told the NDC that Taiwanese are internationally renowned for friendliness, and foreigners relocating to gorgeous Formosa will never be disappointed by the kindly, caring and giving spirit of its people. He said he’d always do his best to help Taiwan’s industries realize their highest potential and help attract international talent to Taiwan.
