Remove the Roof
“When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house. Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them. Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him. When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?’ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— “I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.” He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”” (Mark 2:1-12 WEB)
The Lord brought this miracle to my remembrance and wants to tell us to remove the roof in our minds.
Oftentimes when we are faced with challenges, we only see the impossibilities and limitations.
The paralytic’s four friends saw that the house was so crowded and that there was no way to enter through the front door. Instead of seeing this as an impossible situation, they thought out of the box and removed the roof.
Some of us need to remove the roof from some wrong doctrines that we have been taught in the past that are limiting our ability to receive from God now.
When the four friends lowered the paralytic down into the house, Jesus did not rebuke them or curse the paralytic for removing the roof. Instead, He saw their faith and healed the paralytic.
The religious scribes might have viewed removing the roof as an audacious and preposterous act, but Jesus only saw it as faith.
When you approach God today in prayer, don’t have this sense of fear, as if He will punish you if you say something wrong.
Just believe that He is like Jesus, seeing your faith as you ask Him for big things—even ‘impossible’ things. He loves it when you have faith to receive miraculous breakthroughs from Him!
“Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 WEB)
Remove the roof in your mind that limits God or makes Him appear stingy and reluctant to help you.
God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, which means that no matter how big your prayer requests (demands) are, His supply will be much more than you expect.
If He is going to keep exceeding your expectations, then set your sights high. He loves it when you have a good opinion of Him—and that is faith!

Prophetic Words for your Provision
““Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.” So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her, and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.” As she was going to get it, he called to her, and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” She said, “As Yahweh your God lives, I don’t have a cake, but a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son. For Yahweh, the God of Israel says, ‘The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.’” She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, and he, and her house, ate many days. The jar of meal didn’t run out, and the jar of oil did not fail, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.” (1 Kings 17:9-16 WEB)
When God shows you a vision and gives you a prophetic word, obey it because He is preparing good things for you.
You may not have much, but God can multiply the little in your hands into much.
Similar to Jesus’ miracle of multiplying the bread and fishes, Elijah’s miracle caused a widow’s family to be supplied throughout the drought-induced famine.
God multiplied a little boy’s bread and fishes through Jesus, while God multiplied the widow’s meal and oil through Elijah.
The scale of Jesus’ miracle is much larger because it fed more than five thousand people.
Are you experiencing some sort of drought in areas of your life? Are your health or finances drying up?
“They rose early in the morning, and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. As they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in Yahweh your God, so you will be established! Believe his prophets, so you will prosper.”” (2 Chronicles 20:20 WEB)
When you are left with little, clinging to that little is not wise. Put what you have in God’s hands and allow Him to multiply it. He will show you what to do.
Believe in your loving Abba God. Prophetic words carry the authority and power of God to work miracles, so read this message a few times and let this truth really sink in: God will make a way for you.
Right now may be a drought season for many in the world, but rain is coming. In the meantime, trust God that you will be well-supplied amidst the drought. You shall not die, but live to declare the goodness of God!

Are you doing things based on past experience, or are you allowing yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit?
Perhaps you are sensing a leading to do something new or be somewhere else, but you are afraid because it feels so unfamiliar and almost impossible.
The apostle Philip was led to do something new. He had a thriving ministry in the villages of the Samaritans. He could have chosen to stay and play shepherd to his congregation, but he wasn’t disobedient to God’s instruction.
“They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the Good News to many villages of the Samaritans. But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert.” He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship. He was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah. The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”” (Acts 8:25-29 WEB)
Philip took a leap of faith and journeyed into the desert. God led him to meet a eunuch who was the royal treasurer serving Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians. This eunuch was studying the Scriptures. Only God can cause you to be at the right place at the right time like that.
Philip had the chance to share the Gospel to him, and the eunuch received Jesus as Lord by faith, and was water baptized. Phillip’s ministry went international, and we can imagine that the eunuch went back to Ethiopia and grew God’s kingdom there too.
Being Spirit-led will lead you to experience growth like you’ve never seen before because God will give you the opportunity of a lifetime, to put you in front of people that you will never have the chance to meet if you miss the timeframe. Those who can help you and who can be greatly useful to God.
Being Spirit-led can also protect you from suffering unnecessary harm.
“When much time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous, because the Fast had now already gone by, Paul admonished them, and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.” But the centurion gave more heed to the master and to the owner of the ship than to those things which were spoken by Paul.” (Acts 27:9-11 WEB)
The centurion listened to the ship owner, trusting human experience more than a prompting from the Holy Spirit as shared by Paul.
No matter how well your knowledge and technique served you in a past season, don’t place your confidence in them. A new season requires fresh grace and new ways of doing things as led by the Holy Spirit. Be willing to follow Him into uncharted waters and you will realize the great plans God has in store for you!
