我著兩位小一的補習學生完成這張 Read All About Me 的大張 poster report。
其中有粒大星形圖案，內裡寫著 I am a star because ... 孩子問，咩意思呀？我說有沒有甚麼東西讓你十分欣賞自己，感覺自己閃閃發亮呢。他們都說沒有，然後花了好一些時間努力思索。
想起一年級的正仔，不需要多想就立即寫下 I am good at climbing and playing video games，其實如果有更多空位，他也輕易填個滿滿。
兩位小一男生終於想好了，一個認為自己能夠獨立完成功課，不用媽媽幫忙算幾叻仔；另一位就對自己每天交齊功課感到滿意。
嗯 ⋯ 就這樣子嗎？孩子對自己的觀感都只有跟學業成績、功課表現扯上關係嗎？課業以外沒有讓他們欣賞自己喜歡自己的東西嗎？
或許孩子以為，在大人眼中（尤其老師、補習老師的身份），最重視他們有沒有做好功課、勤力學習，而平常玩得幾厲害、有幾多古靈精怪的點子也不足夠讓他們做一顆星。在平日匆忙的生活中，我們的關注又是否一面倒的功課功課功課？
【補回失蹤的手指】
Getting Back The Missing Finger
這位男客人在去年九月初來找我批八字。
當時他問的是個人事業的發展。
後來他提到妻子懷孕了六個月，多次超聲波掃描，卻看不到胎兒的手有完整的五根手指。
醫生告訴他們，要有心理準備，這嬰兒出世後，手可能只有四根手指。
我聽了驚駭，問了他太太的生日，便向他解說為何他們八字的結合會導致這個問題。我也提到一些方法，希望他去做。
諮詢結束後，我一直在想著這問題。看看他們夫婦倆的八字，這孩子還有三個月才出世，還有時間扭轉乾坤。
在我跟師父出差的那十多年裡，我依稀記得師父曾經以風水解決類似的問題。
某晚，我打了電話給師父，請教他。師父慈悲再一次教我他用的方法，並提醒我客人的太太不能吃的食物。
人要改命，要懂得集合天時地利人和的力量，效果才會更快更顯著。
幾天後，我寫了電郵給男客人，交代了三件事，來幫助胎兒：
一、天時：
依客人妻子的八字，我列出哪些食物是她在這三個月必須避開的。
二、地利：
在他們家中的某個方位，擇良辰吉日貼上一張男嬰的海報。這男嬰的海報必須有的特徵及那個方位要注意的地方，我都清楚交代他。
這一段話，我打上粗體字 「盡快完成」。
三、人和：
從現在到孩子出生前，夫妻倆每天各唸至少108遍「南無地藏王菩薩」，迴向：祈願迴向給我的兒子身心健康，一切健全。
在我的經驗當中，有些客人比較講心情來過自己的人生，因此靠天時改命，自律和恆持力比較差的，無法得到理想成績。
靠人和，時勤時懶，又或者猜疑心重、猶豫不決的客人，也無法見效。
唯有地利，只要客人願意做一次的改變，不去更動那風水，這力量就能出來了。
今年一月七日，男客人寫了封簡短的電郵感謝我和師父，也說孩子剛出世一切OK。
他的感謝電郵和見他本尊時一樣 - 一樣木訥。😄
就因為客人表達能力不強，一封電郵多聲謝謝更顯得驚奇。我問他是做了哪些事，他說三件事都照辦了。我告訴他這事得他自己撥電感謝師父，因為這不全是我的功勞，也是 玳瑚師父 Master Dai Hu 的慈悲救渡。
看一個八字，能生出健全的孩子，太值得了！賀！🎉

This male client had a Bazi consultation with me in last September in 2020.
At that time, he was asking about his career development.
Later on, he mentioned that his wife was already 6 months pregnant. However, despite several ultrasounds, they couldn’t see complete five fingers on the baby’s hand.
The doctor told them to be mentally prepared that their baby when born may have only four fingers on his hand.
I was shocked when I heard it. I asked for his wife’s birthday and explained why the combination of their Bazi would cause such an issue. I gave him some solutions and hoped that he would heed my words.
After the consultation ended, I kept thinking of this issue. I examined the couple’s Bazi back home. 3 more months before the baby is due, there is still time to turn the tide around.
In the 12 years I learnt under Shifu, I vaguely remembered he once resolved a similar problem with Feng Shui.
I gave Shifu a call one night and sought his teaching. Shifu compassionately taught me again what he did for his client, and reminded me the foods that the wife must avoid.
When you wish to transform your destiny, you must know how to gather the trinity powers of the Heaven, Earth and Human, and the result will be faster and more obvious.
A few days later, I wrote an email to the male client and gave him three things to do to help his baby:
1. Heavenly Time
Based on the client’s wife Bazi, I listed which foods his wife must avoid in the remaining three months.
2. Land Advantage
In a particular sector of their home, choose an auspicious date & time to put up a poster of a baby boy. I laid down clearly the characteristics of baby in the poster and the conditions of the sector.
I wrote in bold “Get this done AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.”
3. Human Harmony
From now till the child’s birth, the client and his wife should each recite 108 times daily “南無地藏王菩薩” and dedicate the merits to their son: May my son be born healthy physically and emotionally, and able-bodied.
In my experience, some clients are more temperamental when it comes to living their lives. Thus to rely on their Heavenly Time to change their destiny, it is hard to achieve desirable results with poor self-discipline and perseverance.
To rely on Human Harmony, if the client is lazy at times and diligent at others, or easily doubtful and hesitant, whatever effort also come to a naught.
But the only factor that can work in such times will be Land Advantage. As long as the client is willing to make a change once, and does not alter the Feng Shui after that, the power to transform his destiny will arise.
On Jan 7, 2021, the male client wrote a short email to thank Shifu and I, and said that things looked okay with his newborn.
His thank-you email was just like his persona in real-life - woody and reserved. 😄
Yet because the client was not expressive, it is even more surprising to get an email with many thank-you. I asked which of the 3 recommendations he took up, and he replied he did all 3. I told him to give Shifu a call to thank him personally. Firstly, out of sincerity. Secondly, this wasn’t all due to my effort.
If getting a Bazi read can result into a healthy baby born, what a great value! 😄 This deserves a celebration! 🎉

まずは近況報告からさせていただきます。

昨日は、メガネブランドのOWNDAYS代表の田中さんに来ていただいて、あれやこれやとお話しさせていただきました。
その中でも「どうしてOWNDAYSは実店舗がメインなのに、コロナ禍において、ダメージを受けるどころか、経営を加速させることができたのか？」という話がもうメチャクチャ面白くて、経済評論家のそれじゃなくて、現場の手触り感のある話なんですね。
コロナをどう捉え、どう立ち回るか、今回は世界中の経営者の手腕が試されたと思うのですが、昨日、聞いたOWNDAYS田中さんの捉え方、立ち回り方が僕個人的には圧倒的に正しいと思っていて、その部分は是非、観ていただきたいです。
「スナック西野」が隔週土曜日に放送されます。夕方に１０分の無料版が流れて、その夜に１時間の有料版が流れます。

近況報告の二つ目です。
先日、公開された映画『えんとつ町のプペル』のメインビジュアル。こちらは映画館に貼り出されるポスターや、映画館にデーン！と出る看板に使われる、いわば「広告素材」なのですが、この出来がメチャクチャいいんです。
僕はスマホの待ち受けにもしています。
これ、普通に、額装して部屋に飾りたいよなぁと思ってですね、映画の公開日や声優さんの名前といった文字情報を全部抜いて、「アートポスター」として販売することになりました。

クラウドファンディングのリターンとして出しているのですが、一つ、条件があります。
ポスターって「配送」にしてしまうと、配送費が結構かかっちゃうんですね。
なので、１２月に六本木ヒルズで開催する『えんとつ町のプペル光る絵本展in六本木ヒルズ（入場無料）』での直接受け渡しを条件とさせていただきました。
会場まで受け取りに来られる方、限定です。
友達の分を代表で取りに来るのもオッケーですし、ポスターの転売も全然オッケーですので、勝手に商売を始めていただいても構いません。
あと、サラッと言っちゃいましたが、六本木ヒルズで個展を開催しようと思ったら、３０００万円ぐらいかかっちゃうのですが、それを「入場無料」というのは、そこそこ狂気の沙汰なんです。
これは、オンラインサロンの売り上げから個展の開催費用を捻出しているからできたわけで、オンラインサロンの売り上げというのは、こういうことに使わせていただいております。
エッフェル塔で開催した個展が入場無料だったのも、同じ理由です。

というわけで、今日の本題です。
タイトルにありますとおり、この度、図書館協会の方とお話しさせていただいて、全国の図書館３３００館に絵本『えんとつ町のプペル』を寄贈させていただくことが決定しました。
よく、「支援とか寄贈とかばっかりしていますが、大丈夫なんですか？」と聞かれるので、ご説明させていただきと、まず大前提として僕は「いい人」だと思われたいというのがあります。なので偽善中の偽善です。
くわえて、利益や貯金を増やすことには僕は一切の興味がなくて、なので、働いていただいたお金はエンタメ投資か支援活動に回すことを決めています。そういうコンセプトで会社をやっているんです。
最悪、食いっぱぐれて食う物に困ったら、サロンメンバーさんの家を一軒一軒回って、晩飯をご馳走になることを勝手に決めているので、そのへんセーフティーネットはバッチリなんですね。
次に、「図書館で読めちゃったら絵本が売れなくなるのでは？」というご意見・ご心配に対してお答えすると、たしかに「もう読んだから要らない」と考える方もいらっしゃるとは思うのですが、その一方で、「図書館で読んだ絵本を自分用に持っておきたい」という新しい需要も生まれると思っていて、これは「どっちとも言えない」というところだと思います。
くわえて僕は、絵本が「売れる売れない」よりも、「知ってる知らない」の方を重要視した方がいいという考えで、もちろん活動を続けていく以上、「売れること」というのはとっても大事なのですが、それよりも遥かに「知ってもらうこと」の方が大事だと思っています。
当たり前の話ですが、知られなかったら売れないので。
順番としては「知られる」方が先なんですね。
全てのサービスのお客さんは「知らないから買わないお客さん」と「知ってて買うお客さん」と「知ってて買わないお客さん」の３つに分けられて、まずは、知ってもらう割合を増やすことが大事だと思います。
図書館で「えんとつ町のプペル」を読んだご家族が、「えんとつ町のプペル」を買わなかったとしても、「えんとつ町のプペル」の話を、まだ「えんとつ町のプペル」を知らない友達とかに話してくれたら、その友達が「買ってくれる候補」には入る。
あとは、絵本は買わないけど、「図書館で読んだ絵本の映画は観に行く」という選択肢もある。
ときどき、「販売している本をどんどん貸し出されてしまうと、売り上げに悪影響が出る」と図書館を敵視する出版社さんがいらっしゃいますが、さっきみたいな考えでいくと、図書館の意味ってメチャクチャあると思っていて、敵どころか、互いに好影響をもたらしながら共存できる関係です。
なので僕は本屋さんも応援しますし、図書館も応援します。

Game Preview
Marcus Camby has two goals tonight: lead Massachusetts to its first Final Four; avoid becoming a poster child for one of Allen Iverson's I-didn't-think-little-guys-could-do-that dunks.
The two aims may be inherently linked when top-seeded Massachusetts faces second-seeded Georgetown in the 6 p.m. NCAA East Regional final at the Georgia Dome.
The Minutemen (34-1) rely on the defensive presence of Camby, their 6-foot-11 All-America center and shot-blocker. The Hoyas (29-7) depend on the offensive fireworks of Iverson, their 6-foot All-America guard and acrobat.
They won't be guarding one another, but rest assured, they'll meet. Or perhaps collide is a better word, because Iverson's game is predicated on his headlong drives to the basket, which is where Camby will be waiting.
''It doesn't seem like he's 6-foot tall the way he gets up in the air,'' Camby said of Iverson. ''I know he can jump over me and dunk it, and I don't want to be anybody's poster child, so I'm going to try and block everything.''
Camby, the leading candidate for national Player of the Year, averages 3.8 blocks per game and is the fourth player in NCAA history to reach 300 blocks in his first three seasons. He is the primary reason the Minutemen are third nationally in field goal percentage defense at 38.5.
But don't think for a minute that Iverson will be deterred. He averages 25.1 points and has scored 30 or more in five of Georgetown's last nine games.
''It doesn't matter who's in there,'' Iverson said. ''I'm going to the hole anyway. I'm not going to change, even if there's two or three Marcus Cambys in there.''
And what about Carmelo Travieso, the UMass guard with a reputation for shutting down big-time scorers?
''I don't think anybody can play me one-on-one without handchecking me,'' Iverson said. ''That's just the way I am. I'm a very confident person.''
Confident enough to have attempted a Georgetown-record 29 shots in Thursday's semifinal victory against Texas Tech. Confident enough to keep shooting and driving when only 10 went in. Good enough to finish with a game-high 32 points, many coming in clutch situations.
''If I was on a team that just needed me to distribute the ball, that's what I'd do,'' Iverson said. ''Coach (John Thompson) gave me a role, and I accepted it. This team needs me to score.
''Before I came here, Coach Thompson told me he'd put the ball in my hands and let me play my style of basketball. He's been true to his word.''
Iverson has the Hoyas in their first regional final since 1989 and on the brink of their first Final Four since 1985. Camby has the Minutemen in their second consecutive East final and one game away from their first Final Four.
But both face daunting challenges besides one another. Camby must confront Georgetown's rugged front line players - Othella Harrington, Jahidi White, Ya-Ya Dia and company. Iverson must duel UMass guards Travieso and Edgar Padilla, composed veterans who will make him pay for any missteps.
The Hoyas undoubtedly will try to muscle the 220-pound Camby, much the way Oklahoma State and Big Country Reeves did in last year's East final, won by the Cowboys. Camby had just six points and four rebounds before fouling out, while Reeves dominated with 24 points and 10 boards.
''That game showed me what I needed to do to improve,'' Camby said. ''I can't forget about it because everybody brings it up.''
