1975年（昭和50年）4月23日に小田急多摩線延伸に伴い小田急多摩センター駅開業。各停の停車駅となる。
1990年（平成2年）3月27日多摩線が唐木田駅まで延伸。
2018年（平成30年）12月6日に小田急多摩センター駅にて、サンリオキャラクターを使用したデザイン装飾を実施。
2018年度の1日平均乗降人員は51,318人で、小田急電鉄の駅の中では全70駅中第23位。

Design decoration using Sanrio characters was carried out at Odakyu Tama Center Station on December 6, 2018.
The average daily boarding and disembarking personnel for FY2018 was 51,318, ranking 23rd out of 70 stations at Odakyu Electric Railway.
